After eliminating General Zod & the other Kryptonian arch-villains, Ursa & Non, Superman leaves Earth to try to find his former home world of Krypton after astronomers have supposedly found it. When he finds nothing but remnants, he returns home to Earth - to find out that Lois Lane is engaged to a relative of his boss, and that Lex Luthor is at it again - after swindling an elderly, terminally ill woman. The psychopathic Luthor, whose plans to destroy California failed because of Superman's heroics, vows vengeance against the Man of Steel and contrives a new sinister plot - using the crystals of Krypton to build a continent that will wipe out most of North America! Embedded in the continent's structure is Kryptonite - the lethal substance that is Superman's only weakness. Upon learning of Luthro's sinister scheme, Superman must again race against time to stop the psychopathic Luthor before millions - possibly billions - are killed.

I saw the movie last night and I really wanted to like it. My
expectations for the film was going up and down since I heard
is being made. Some days I would like to see something spectacular and
few days I was disappointed.
however, being the kind of fan I am, I had high hopes for this movie, but
in the end I was very disappointed.
Although I love Richard Donner film I did not like his sometimes campy nature
or changes made to the character of Superman and his powers
.
Singer nevertheless chose to take the worst elements of film Donner
and put them into his version.
While his Lex Luthor is slightly darker still is nothing more than a
shyster, a commemorative and a common criminal. He is no more intelligent
when Gene Hackman played him. Kevin Spacey does his best to play Luthor
well, but ultimately falls victim to bad writing and uncomplicated
dialog.
his henchmen are only two dimensions, even comic henchmen.
Most of them literally have no dialogue in the film.
**** **** Spoilers ahead Kitty Kowalski is almost exactly the same character
Tesmacher Mrs. She seems to be so bad and cold as Lex Luthor
but it turns out to be only a junior that melts after seeing Superman in
problems and fairly predictable betrays Luthor.
The biggest disappointment in the film was Frank Langella as Perry White
. I was a big fan of most of the top Perry White in the
Donner films, but at least had a soul. After all was said and done
, a veteran reporter who cares about the truth and a good story.
Langella's Perry White is nothing but a puppet business.
He wants everyone to focus on stories related to Superman because
sell papers despite all the other role is doing the same thing. The
not care about the real stories, the real mysteries such as black
and what Lex Luthor is so far that is outside the prison.
Worst of Langella is that he is boring! Some players can be calm and sober and
, however, have an c Conference that lets you know that
still waters run deep. Frank Langella is puddle.
Brandon Routh is not a bad actor. He is well but again there is no single memorable line
throughout the film. This is not the fault of the actor. His
movements are clearly meant to look elegant, like the slightest movement of his fingers
effects how the flies. However, still expects
choreography and artificial.
Lois Lane, while it was spelled incorrectly surprisingly well acted by Kate Bosworth
. Unfortunately, once again, for a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and writer
, it is almost as eloquent as any teenager in Dawson's Creek.
James Marsden was my favorite player of the whole film, especially since
that looks more like Superman that even Routh. Without that super
manages to figure out Lois Lane's message, a plane flies to the location
receives aboard the yacht Luthor and Lois and rescues his son.
The only moving moment in the film is when they are all trapped pantry
as is the flood water and the boat sinks. You see them slowly
is submerged in water. You know Superman will
to come at the last minute to rescue them, but still can not help but feel sorry for them
.
As I said before the plot is very messy. Unlike Singer said,
this is not a film about a superhero who return and try to find their
place in the world. As soon as you return the world will welcome back
with open arms. Lois is the only one that is not happy to see him back. Even
Luthor is happy to have Superman back
because it gives him a chance to settle the score with the man of steel.
Superman is shown to be probably one of the heroes in the dumbest
universe. A large piece of green meteorite was stolen from a museum,
Lex Luthor is out of jail, has knowledge about the powers of Superman
and weaknesses, and yet he still can not connect the dots enough
Namely Luthor would be using Kryptonite against him.
According to the film the only thing that Superman is good for the lifting is
actually, things really heavy. The action sequences are all incredibly predictable
.
