At night and on weekends, four men in a suburban garage have built a cottage industry of error-checking devices. But, they know that there is something more. There is some idea, some mechanism, some accidental side effect that is standing between them and a pure leap of innovation. And so, through trial and error they are building the device that is missing most. However, two of these men find the device and immediately realize that it is too valuable to market. The limit of their trust in each other is strained when they are faced with the question, If you always want what you can't have, what do you want when you can have anything?

A group of young scientists working in a frenetic pace to invent

start showing interesting side effects. From his work in a small cottage industry of error checking
devices that are forced to confront the fact that they have discovered something
too valuable to the market. As we explore the potential of its
machine, are trapped in a loop of frantic guessing
.
Science fiction film has been largely dominated by the visual impact
, and therefore this is a welcome (to some) back into the world of ideas.
This is not an easy place for entertainment, but a film where you have to concentrate
to keep pace, drawing up the logical implications of what is happening
. If made on the scale of Men in Black or Matrix that
descend to the level of false - as we follow the two main characters
knowing that their actions are having far-reaching effects in the world that
and surrounding themselves. Instead of flashy graphics, we still have to maintain
ramifications of history in mind as the characters struggle with themselves
who know what is happening, but they can not even stop to see in
directly.
It is not easy to follow. The production values are not perfect.
There is not an obvious' good guy 'or' bad '. But this movie was so good?
Oh hell yes.
This film has been compared with "2001" because of the sci-fi angle.
But while the film is a sci-fi element in it (the device), the film
is not even about that. It is on these two guys, and how it affects
individually, and their relationship with each other.
I found this film to be quite difficult, but worth the trip. I was
up for hours and hours discussing this movie with friends, and if that is not what
do you like your movie, then it probably is not for you.
But if you like something to change your brain, you can see
repeatedly, which can actually chew ... then here comes
"Prime" as a ghost at night.
It is too early to say that this film will reside in
cinema history - revered, forgotten, or somewhere in between - but is
already won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance (where it beat out '
Garden State "), and not just go away. It moves along, is intuitive,
held my attention. Even "Pi" If you do not, and if you are a nerd film,
which is saying something.
If you are not a film nerd, this approach more cautiously.
Remember, Shane Carruth had no idea how to even make a film when he began
do this, but the end result is something much more fascinating
your typical film school snob could never together.
This is totally original, and took me to a place I've never been. And
that only makes the "2001" Compared start seeing more and more accurate
.....
