(action, crime, thriller)
It's a quiet morning in New York City...until a massive bomb explodes in the Bonwit Teller department store, causing several vehicles to flip, and causing several drivers to come to a sudden stop. This throws the NYPD into a frenzy, trying to sort out what's going on. At the station, Inspector Walter Cobb of the NYPD's major case unit gets a call from a man who calls himself Simon. Simon asks for Lieutenant John McClane, and Walter tells Simon that John, who is now an alcoholic, is on suspension. Simon wants John to go to the corner of 138th Street and Amsterdam in Harlem and wear a racist sign. Walter and his fellow officers Joe Lambert, Connie Kowalski, and Ricky Walsh find John, who is now an alcoholic who is seperated from his wife Holly, and they talk to him. Ricky tells Walter that there have been 3 killings in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn in the past two nights, and 14 dump trucks were stolen from a construction yard on Staten Island. John wants to know where the backup is going to be, and Walter tells him that the backup will be on 128th Street, 10 blocks away. John complains that 10 blocks is too far away for the backup to be. Walter tells John that Simon has threatened to detonate another bomb if the police don't do what he says. John wants to know why he's been targeted by Simon, but no one knows why. While John is in Harlem, store owner Zeus Carver rescues John from a black street gang that was beating John up because of the sign. John and Zeus find themselves stuck with each other as Simon continues his antics and forces John and Zeus to work together to do what he tells them, but John and Zeus can't stop one of Simon's bombs from blowing up a subway station, and it turns out that Simon is Simon Peter Gruber the brother of Hans Gruber, the terrorist that John rescued the Nakatomi building from in Los Angeles years ago. The question now is, is this about revenge on John, or is Simon planning something a lot bigger?

When one thinks of action photos of friends, Lethal Weapon is immediately
first film to pop into your mind, since practically birth gender . Another option would probably be
Midnight Run or Rush Hour, the last
that somehow pop culture took by assault (I remind my friends to go out there,
shouting "My dad once caught a bullet ..."). So often left in the dust, probably because
was the third film in a trilogy and
strayed a bit from their predecessors, is none other than Die Hard: With a Vengeance,
outside the top of my head, is the best friend of action film I've seen
.
How can this be? Better than Lethal Weapon 1 and 2? Better than Rush Hour?
Hell, I even say it's better than Die Hard and Die Harder. Here is a movie that knows
wisely, as a second sequel, not simply to repeat the same material
again. This has to do partially with the many
Die Hard rip-off (ie, Under Siege and speed), so that the hooks had been ido, and I thank God
John McTiernan absolutely firm and not suddenly decide
"we are going to do Die Hard on a plane!" which finally becomes three times
(Executive Decision, Air Force One, and Con Air). But what the filmmakers
have done here is ingenious, which have expanded the adjustment to include all of
New York City.
They do this and still manage to maintain the intense claustrophobia that permeated
previous entries, doing so only by showing how frantic it is
morning traffic and magnitude of New York. As absurd as that
last statement may sound, imagine trying to get from point A to point B in
midst of a jam. McTiernan really knows how to let the tension ratchet
against only the sound of honking horns.
Then there's the case of John McClane himself. On this occasion, is
the whim of a madman Simon called it requires to perform certain tasks or
New York buildings will be demolished with explosives. In the first two films
, McClane is an Everyman, which adds much appeal, but also acted too
a bit like a superhero to work steadily as an Everyman, so what
filmmakers have done here is to turn him into a jaded cop. He's seen this
things before, so it is not like fear, as it was before. Willis is in great
this feature, too, see how it's done before in The Last Boy Scout, but the
leads to perfection.
On the contrary, we now have as the Everyman is Samuel L. Jackson as Zeus, and
he is a brilliant addition. Not only Jackson is simply awesome in his role,
he is friendly, hard, and hilarious, but it is also easy to sympathize with
because he is not an action hero. He did not know how to use a firearm, which has not
combat training, and he never had to take the terrorists before.
What makes it so effective is its street-wise nature, and this quality of his
works perfectly with McClane's own Street Smarts And heroics action, which
are combined in his day along the adventure. These two have a chemistry that
at least equal to Riggs and Murtaugh, and if there is a sequel Die Hard, Jackson
have to go back.
too many action films give us poor villains who are not threatening, vile, or
charismatic enough to make effective antagonists. Jeremy Irons' Simon
Gruber is an exception. The villain is the best Die Hard, snaky
oozing charm and intelligence. This was one of the last papers Irons career of
I could take seriously. He is doing what since then, Dungeons and Dragons? Unfortunately
how your career has taken this downward spiral.
And finally, there is the story and action. The plot of a lot of fun, with
McClane and Zeus having to use both your brain and Brawn to save the day. The
contrivances in the finals (the scene with the wives,
aspirin bottle) are not sufficient to achieve the high point down, although the
conclusion is not as exciting as the rest of the film. That's understandable
however, since the rest of the action is superb, especially a car
"persecution" through the streets of New York which is the unstaged as a car chase
possibly can see. The film moves at a pace that the rays before your eyes
the opening scene until the last. Die Hard: With a Vengeance is an action movie
that has it all.
I like this on a much as I like the first. The first of these
had a better plot and was more tense, but it moves at high speed
type and think it is more before they begin. A great improvement
during the second part, this film once again McClane is in the midst of a
emergency situation. This time, unlike the second part, although it is very reasonable
which involves character as Irons is the brother of
lead villain of the first Die Hard. Throw in a lot of fun Samuel L
Jacksoncharacter and you have the makings of a great action film prudent
andcomedy wise too. This revolves around a mad bomber,
threatening to blow up several places including a school official if not McClane
not play the game. McClane must do everything they said the bomber and the bomber child
do much for our hero. Great action is a fact
as our hero must try desperately to find bombs. Multiple scenes of cars
a cool scene in a boat, and loads and loads of gold
thrown in a thrilling ride. Irons is great as the villain, as in the Rickman
first. Truly this is a fast-moving trip that will keep you well entertained
throughout the process.
