Set in the 1930's the story takes place in an old fashioned English country house where a family has invited many of their friends up for a weekend shooting party. The story centers around the McCordle family, particularly the man of the house, William McCordle. Getting on in years William has become benefactor to many of his relatives and friends. As the weekend goes on and secrets are revealed, it seems everyone, above stairs and below, wants a piece of William and his money, but how far will they go to get it...?

Excellent film about an "idea". The murder mystery is itself a "macguffin"
the central issue of some of the characters' relationships.
This film is worthy of its Academy Award nominations and! Watch it
twice since it has more ideas on a vision closer, but it is full of
"within" entertainment for those who love the films of the era and pop genre
Music of the 1930's. Truly a joint effort with excellent
hard work of British veterans and young geniuses.
I read through the first page of the comments made by many users, and I
I think I can understand why many people think that this movie is underestimated.
People think that this movie sucks because they do not like multi-story plot
and who have difficulties to follow the stories. Some may expect a
spine chilling murder and wants to be scared and wet the seat. However,
who really appreciate and understand the film know more than clear that the
film focuses on the lives of upper-class people (and lives of
time) instead of a crime bloody.
The film defines the word originality not better. In fact, Julian Fellowes
deserves all the awards he has received since the script is a challenge for
write and it is difficult to pack all the stories in 150 minutes of film. The
explains the complicated relationship between visitors as well, and he
practically creates a reason to kill Sir William for all so that
the crime itself is very disconcerting. Of course, I must admit that there
are really too many characters and is simply impossible to keep track of the movement
all over the world in the first half of the film, but leaves clues to Julian
our understanding that our feeling is intensified
more and more as the story develops. Even better is the dialogue - sharp, sarcastic,
fun, witty. It gives life to the movie and fully
defines the character of many visitors for a short time is that when

fairy tales are great and original, but when comparing the relationship

(after A Beautiful Mind). If you like movies like Magnolia and Traffic, which
require a lot of patience to enjoy, is perhaps the largest of its film
a lifetime.
