Download Movie JarheadJarhead (the self-imposed moniker of the Marines) follows "Swoff" (Gyllenhaal), a third-generation enlistee, from a sobering stint in boot camp to active duty, sporting a sniper's rifle and a hundred-pound ruck on his back through Middle East deserts with no cover from intolerable heat or from Iraqi soldiers, always potentially just over the next horizon. Swoff and his fellow Marines sustain themselves with sardonic humanity and wicked comedy on blazing desert fields in a country they don't understand against an enemy they can't see for a cause they don't fully fathom... Foxx portrays Sergeant Sykes, a Marine lifer who heads up Swofford's scout/sniper platoon, while Sarsgaard is Swoff's friend and mentor, Troy, a die-hard member of STA-their elite Marine Unit.

Jarhead is the third in a series of successful films of Sam Mendes, wowing
first hearing with American beauty and then continue with our admiration
road to perdition. With Jarhead, Mendes
solidifies himself as one of the most extraordinary filmmakers working today.

The first thing that may surprise the public is that this is not necessarily
an anti-war piece. Mendes and screenwriter: William Broyles, Jr.
have been careful not to make this movie in narrow viewpoint. Instead, by focusing on
psychological distress of a soldier,
Anthony Swofford (Jake Gyllenhaal), Jarhead is able to speak specifically about this
The experience of men and how it relates to those who surround.

Mendes drenched the screen with images and sounds that literally
about us in the horrors of war. These explosions
vision and noise are, however, with scenes of great sadness and
warmth. A scene that quickly comes to mind is a drill
boot camp where young soldiers are crawling under barbed wire - the sound design is
so we hear all the characters screaming or grunting as shooting
zoom overhead. But then, the scene changes. Occurrence of an event that allows
Mendes silence all the violence and machismo of war. Among the
hysteria of the scene, one of the soldiers was shot and freaks
discharged. Mendes lets the camera as a witness if he had not expected it to happen
. The characters are in a state of shock, making it the
hearing. It's just one of many moments in which powerful Mendes changes
strong, visceral to war silent, poignant moments.

Not that there's a lot of war here. In fact, the absence of war
becomes a theme for this movie. Peter Sarsgaard, in a great performance,
reaches its breaking point during the last third of the film, and it is riveting
a time when the absence of war has finally made it
explode. His performance is very strong throughout, but it is not until
the second half of the film when he finally gets a chance to break loose
. Do not mistake the first half of his performance as simply being
on the screen ... palpable charisma that does not happen by accident. It
because he uses his scenes and lines wisely in the first half that
to end absorbed and fascinated by him in the second. A true
implementation support. Oscar nomination expected on the road.

Jamie Foxx surprised me here, not because I did not think it was a fine actor
. Obviously, he is. But his character is so well conceived,
and works wonderfully as the counterpoint to the character Gyllenhaal.
Foxx plays his scenes with confidence but also with touches of gravitation
that even in RAY, we have not seen before. The scene that we get a
vision of the end of the trailer is wonderful in its fullness, and
aid Mendes' film gives us a well-rounded view
Swofford's views on the war. Foxx turns in hilarious and profound.

And then there was Jake Gyllenhaal. Wow. This is an incredible performance
. Watch a dozen scenes where
literally explodes off the screen, but also how they juggle the quieter moments
with great aplomb. What makes a character Swofford intriguing is not always
our sympathy, or, moreover, we want our sympathy. The
is marked by war and his family and life he left behind, and is
only look for a way out of the sand and sexual dysfunction
of war and lack of fire arms fire. Gyllenhaal captive
our attention from its first glance, and his voice-over performance
laces the film with irony and melancholy. It is a great
physical presence in the film as well. I could cite more than a few dynamic scenes
he performed brilliantly, but I will mention only one.
Swofford points a rifle at a fellow soldier after a night not to see,
and then becomes the rifle itself, asking colleagues to rule out a return
soldier in his mouth. It is an indescribable pain
scene to watch, but it is also an example of Gyllenhaal
brave and honest portrayal of this man bruised.

Some people have begun to write about this film as lacking structure or
history, and when I say that I am afraid that may have missed the point.
This is a story about the ambiguity of himself, about disorders,
ambivalence about the war and love, sexual frustration. In these terms, I think
Mendes & Co. have found the perfect way to cinematically
allow us to experience the same kind of complexity in white Swofford
must have felt. And that is why it seems to me a remarkable adaptation of a
memories that I admire deeply.

I could go to the list of scene after scene and making it a memorable
film, but I let you experience yourself and decide for yourself.
In short, Jarhead is a viscerally relentless, psychologically
heartbreaking masterpiece.

I do not know that this is an "Academy" film, but it is certain that Garner
nominations. I would like to appoint as: Picture, Director (Mendes),
Adapted Screenplay (Broyles Jr.), actor (Gyllenhaal), Supporting Actor
(Foxx), Supporting Actor (Sarsgaard), Finnish, Score, Cinematography,
Sound.
As someone who is in the armed forces, thought that this movie is perfect.
If you are looking for a message about war or politics that does not seem
here. This film is strictly a story told by the main character on
his time serving in the Marine Corps and his tour in the Gulf.
It is true to life. Since the language, situations, the manner in which the characters interact
, the film is exactly right.

The film is shot with amazing cinematography. The scenes in the desert,
especially with the oil well fires, are impressive. The shooting was carried out perfectly and
around initially, while the score and the banda sonora
carries a strong emotional level.

The film will get bad comments from a political standpoint. I read a couple
before I saw the film stated that all he did not like the movie because
had no message or position. To that I say good.
Was refreshing to see a movie as a movie. I was glad it was only a
history, and there was no motivation below it.
That is not to say that the film is one dimensional. Many Undertones, simply
none of whom are trying to defame or reaffirm the current war in the Middle
.

See this movie if you want to see a comic, sad, psychotic, intense,
and most importantly REAL story.
