Donnie Darko gets along badly with his family, with his teachers and with his classmates; but he does manage to find a sympathetic friend in Gretchen, who agrees to date him; and he has a compassionate psychiatrist, who discovers hypnosis is the means to unlock hidden secrets. His other companion may not be a true ally. Donnie has a friend named Frank, who is either a large purple bunny, or man in a large purple bunny costume. Either way, Donnie is the only one who can see him. When an engine falls off a plane and destroys his room, Donnie is not there. Both the event, and Donnie's escape, seem to have been caused by supernatural events. Donnie's mental illness, if such it is, may never allow him to find out for sure.

I think the main theme of this movie is summarized somewhere in the middle, Donnie
when speaking to a not so useful self-help guru
and said something that the following effects:
< br> "Yes, I'm scared and I am confused. However, I think you are f ** king
antichrist !!!"< br>
After all, _Donnie Darko_ is a film about people who feel life and all
emotions within him very deeply. Donnie itself is basically a sweet-tempered
(often brave) young man who is pathologically terrified
of loneliness and isolation spiritual thinking. His search for meaning and self-discovery
drives him to the periphery of our reality, which only serves to isolate
more from the world he likes. The few who understand
Donnie what's going to go largely unnoticed (as his girlfriend Gretchen
or a tragic overweight remarkable yet sensitive girl) or
unappreciated (as Karen, professor English, whose only sin is trying
to show his students that there is no such thing as a real
end.)
Of course, this movie is far from being polarized his characters ( indeed,
polarization is the last thing this movie wants to carry out) and
majority are only a mishmash of the beautiful and the grotesque:
Donnie's parents, who are to while loving and perpetually confused;
mentioned the self-help by Jim Cunningham, who is desperate for
spread the lie that keeps you sane throughout the world, and Donnie's sister, struggling
between its identity as an adult and his identity as a child. And then there is Frank
. All I can say here is that nothing can prepare you for or
Frank adequately describe.
Probably the best thing for this movie, however, is its incredible emotional range
. It manages to inspire hope, love, fear, laughter, tears and
at various points throughout the movie without making you feel less
bit like there was a contradiction between these states. The scenes with Frank
(especially taking place in the office of therapist
against the backdrop of a conversation about the end of the world) are frankly
some of the scariest things I've ever seen in a film because
literally made my skin crawl.
Finally, the proceedings in this movie are exquisite. The
talent in this movie is first class and even Gyllenhall is simply amazing. That said, however,
this movie has a bleak future. Combine the fact that the vast majority of
the moviegoing public is only going to find it unbearably rare
with the fact that the film begins with a portion of crashing a plane into a building
(this is to be the very definition of bad times) and
is quite clear that this movie is going to remain underground. However, if
're looking for a beautiful experience with a single movie, is _Donnie Darko_
almost as good as gets.
The fact that this is the first film directors is unbelievable to me. The
goteó scenes with style, style that does not seem distracting. None of
is free greeting or wolverines. The visuals were backed by a
Result really emotional and difficult to find faults in the 80's pop melodies
that found their way into some of the most impressive scenes.
The story is very suggestive. His kind that leaves you pondering the possibilities
expressed by the characters.
There is nothing condescending about this movie. Answers Arent simply surrender, rather
the viewer is left to draw many conclusions. The
is also first class. If i hadnt known beforehand that
Patrick Swayze was in this movie, I would have been surprised. His character is
fun and interesting all at once. A great cameo for him. Drew Barrymore
forget is, however, that in no way detracts from the film. Of course, is
star Jake Gyllenhaal. There is nothing that can be said correctly
praise for their performance. The rest of the cast chosen fits perfectly
their duties. All these things combine to create an impressive film. One can only hope that cinemagoers
give this little jewel shot and support
truly wonderful. This is the only film that he awarded a 10/10 in
IMDB.
