Mystic River, a movie I have been anticipating for months, gave me more
that I never could have expected. Clint Eastwood has delivered the best film
of his career.
Mystic River, a tragic, yet it was necessary to film,
introduces us to three childhood friends who meet with unspeakable tragedy. Located in Boston
, friends Jimmy (Sean Penn), Sean (Kevin Bacon) and Dave (Tim Robbins
) are faced with two men and Dave is kidnapped and ultimately
battered before
to make his escape. Their lives will never be the same again.
Fast-foreward 25 years later. Sean is now a detective investigating the murder of
Jimmy's daughter. Jimmy, who is now an ex-con, has a
local convenience stores. Dave has become a father himself and is still visible
impacted by the events that occurred 25 years ago. The three friends,
which are now separated, come together as the evidence begins to unfold and Dave
is considered one of the main suspects in the assassination. Following is a tragic, brutal
ending unlikely to be forgotten.
What I liked most about this movie is
not give us a hollywood feels. This would not be a good movie if
ended differently or how it was hollywood wants to finish. Eastwood
Slams
the hearing on the lives of these men and shows us what we sometimes choose not
see, in real life and how it affects us the tragedy. I can not praise enough Eastwood
for this movie. There has been talk of Oscar nominations for Mystic River.
Best film, best director, best actor, best actor, best
Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, and the list goes on.
I've never seen a list like this. The film was very well prepared and
Eastwood has done a stellar job. This is undoubtedly the best movie I've ever seen.

Three young friends on the streets of Boston. They begin to
inappropriate behavior and approaches a car and a man rises to its similarity to the police, acting
as well as a policeman and the police seem to have ID. Attracting more than one child. The
said they are going to have a child somewhere (perhaps home?) -
Others say nothing and see, is not happy.
But the man is not a policeman, he is a child molesta /
sadist and has led to the rape and quite possibly later murder. However, several
horrific days later, the boy escapes to freedom - however, that
what happened to him and the two others never leave. Mark
each day of the rest of their lives: Dave and (the kidnapped boy)
run very deep wounds in his flesh.
I am afraid to say, but Clint Eastwood is now the best americas's
Director: and not only that, he is one of the bravest. This is not the most obvious
film. Dark, with a mean little and give security blanket to cling
a. Fortunately has met the best cast that nobody can ask
and for the three co-leaders (the three street children who are going to be
men - Sean Penn (Jimmy), Tim Robins (Dave) and Kevin Bacon (Sean))
excellent. Also worth mentioning is Laurence Fishburne as a laconic police
black with a firm but fair attitude.
This film is not really much about women is not flattering to them.
The subsequent actions of Dave's wife (Marcia Gay Harden) makes little sense
at any level unless the tracks are in the pages of unfilmed
the Dennis Lehane novel. Further discussion would be a spoiler. The plot could
(falsely) read like a thriller or whodunit: Jimmy's (one
ex-con who now runs a convenience store) daughter is murdered and
two main suspects emerge quickly. A boyfriend who was about to elope with her
and former abused kid that Dave had seen the girl
slightly behave wildly in a bar at night he was killed. To make things worse
Dave had arrived late home with a stab wound that very night -
was "stabbed by an mugged," by what he says, but does not cover story
Sense.
To complicate matters further Sean (Bacon) is now a policeman in this case
problems with women of their own. Fortunately they are mostly outside
screen because this movie has enough problems for several films. He is no longer open
friends with Jimmy, but it is clear that he believes more
only an ex-con trying to do well.
People who have read the book say that it remains faithful to its pages
and perhaps that is why things happen slowly and the end is not a point
absolute. The thriller part of the exercise as an old door creaks
because we believe that the incident was a giant Dave
coincidence or was - somehow - involved. And if so, why?
I was intrigued as to why the three central characters
must remain loyal to the area. What keeps them? Especially Dave viewpoints that everyone
as damaged goods and not a crime victim. Even his own wife. As I said before
, Jimmy runs a store (where the money was arriving - in crime?)
But has a criminal past and perhaps even a criminal future if some of the people
you're around are in no way to go. This is not a film that
cree in full disclosure.
also amazes me when the "Today" is intended to be.
There is confusion about whose blood was found in a particular place that
have been resolved easily by examining DNA. They talk only of blood
groups.Hmmm ...
despite its many flaws this is serious and skilful and film
Although I agree with another reviewer - that television makes this type of
the best thing - he does not want say that this is not a good complement to
cannons credible (in outline form) involving street theatre
imperfect people trying to make the best of things
very difficult circumstances.
