While growing up in the Great Depression era, Johnny Cash(Joaquin Phoenix) takes an interest in music and eventually moves out of his Arkansas town to join the air force in Germany. While there, he buys his first guitar and writes his own music, and proposes to Vivian. When they got married, they settled in Tennessee and with a daughter, he supported the family by being a salesman. He discovers a man who can pursue his dreams and ends up getting a record with the boys. Shortly after that, he was on a short tour, promoting his songs, and meets the already famous and beautiful June Carter(Reese Witherspoon). Then as they get on the long-term tours with June, the boys, and Jerry Lee Lewis, they have this unspoken relationship that grows. But when June leaves the tour because of his behavior, he was a drug addict. His marriage was also falling apart, and when he sees June years later at an awards show, he forces June to tour with them again, promising June to support her two kids and herself. While the tour goes on, the relationship between June and John grow more,and his marriage to his first wife ends. June finds out about the drugs, and help him overcome it. True love and care helped John eventually stop the drug usage, and finally proposes to her in front of an audience at a show.

Forget North Country, Walk the Line directed by James Mangold (Girl Interrupted
) and written by Mangold and Gill Dennis is the best
2005 Oscar contender.
This romantic drama, que se basa en las autobiographies Johnny

and perfected along with the famous duo of cash and June Carter Cash
before his death in 2003.
The film begins with a young, music obsessed "JR" cash
growing up in a poor farming family in Arkansas cotton. Shortly thereafter,
a family tragedy changed her life forever.
Cash (Joaquin Phoenix) leaves for the Air Force, where he is stationed in Germany
, buying an old guitar and proceeded to write one of the most
songs recorded in history along with many others.
Upon his return, cash from the obsession leads him to a recording studio and
in the spotlight with June Carter (Reese Witherspoon) and
Elvis Presley ( Tyler Hilton) and comedian Jerry Lee Lewis (Waylon Payne
.) The next emotional hour and 45 minutes is full of great music
, dependence on drugs, infidelity and, above all love.
Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, who sang each song,
shone completely in this movie. There is no better
actors who could have filled the shoes of the Carter-Cash duo. Phoenix and Witherspoon
had so much chemistry at the end of the movie you really think
that can be truly in love.
However, if you tend to get more restless in films, the running time of 136 minutes
can begin to seem a bit long towards the end, but is well worth the
sorrow.
general Walk the Line receives nine out of ten stars. The film made an excellent job
portrays the life of "black man," his soul mate
and its rocky path on the road to love. If Phoenix and Witherspoon are
not nominated by his incredible voice and cooling performances,
will be a great disappointment.
I always thought that James Mangold was one of the most undervalued
directors americas, while other acclaimed authors such as Wes Anderson and David Gordon Green
have made names for themselves the essence of each repeat
film, Mangold has attracted considerable attention
least to really have the nerve to show a little variety. Gustar
the great directors of the Hollywood studio system, Mangold shows
visual and narrative skills across a wide range of genres:
character-driven crime (Copland), horror (identity); issue-oriented drama
(GIRL interrupt), etc. What each of these films
shares in common is an incredibly elegant and expressive visual style, a
attention to character reminiscent of Renoir, and
stories of an economy that Howard Hawks would envy.
Now Mangold has delivered his masterpiece, and is the best study
release I've seen so far this year. Walk the Line, Mangold
history of the relationship between Johnny Cash and June Carter, is deliriously romantic
, exhiliratingly entertaining (as a musical that invites and
wins compared to the best of Vincente Minelli)
and deeply moving - in line with a spectacular banda sonora.
Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon are both bright as Cash and Carter, but not only in
forms that can be expected. His most impressive achievement is
convincingly portray two people fall in love in a way that the cheap
sincere and sweet but never sentimental. This is the most
unabashedly romantic film of americas from scraps, but
is totally devoid of genuine and melodrama, the subtlety with which
Mangold and delineate its performers a step forward , Two steps back
nature of Cash and Carter's love is amazing. Phoenix is
especially bright, not only in romantic scenes, but at times
effects on analyzing his brother early death in these scenes
the great tragedies of nature and life of performer Melting
or performing in a manner that is heartbreakingly real. And the film comes across
the intoxicating nature of the creative collaboration between two people in love
better than any movie I've seen - perhaps no coincidence given
Mangold and his closest collaborator, producer Cathy Konrad, are
married. It could (and) go to this movie around for hours, but let's just say that
is the movie to beat for the rest of the year.
