Indeed, one of the biggest mistake the Academy has done is not awarding the prize
this film Best Picture. For months, he argued that while "Titanic"
was a pretty big show with special effects, script, direction and acting
all and was not mediocre. However, here we have "L.A.
Confidential. "Perfection in writing. Perfection in the right direction. Perfection in
cast. Obviously, because Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce and Kevin Spacey all
gave Oscar worthy performances, the vote was divided, and hence, none
won enough votes for a nomination.
Crowe gave an invigorating performance and Bud White, a man who knows
he is not very intelligent and has instead relied on pure Brawn
all their lives. But as the film progresses, see what you yearn to bring its strength
aside and become self-sufficient, rather than being purely
muscle to the cause of justice, which has become obscured as he has had to resort to violence and debatably
immoral method to preserve peace in Los Angeles. And yet, while
it does make us question whether going to end up on the side of
good or evil at the end of the film uncertain, we do so with sufficient empathy
he hoped that the does redeem himself in the end.
Pearce Ed Exley offered as a man who is fully established in the Medium Pure
of Justice. While his father remains in the same profession, its goals are unique
; to uphold the law without having to bend or break. And yet,
its good aspirations are certainly out of place in a corrupt organization
the police then. He turns slowly in extracting the graft. The
becomes hungry for glory, whatever pulling the strings that have to in order to be promoted or
be seen in a good light of the press. And yet, it does begin to
find himself in exactly give the cause he fought against. And so,
throughout the film, struggling to overcome the instinctive nature of man
to achieve power and glory. He has to be a better man than that. And so,
the public can easily see the nobility in that. He is not perfect. But
at least tries to be.
And probably the best performance in the film comes from Spacey. In this sense,
Exley see what could have become a few years if it was not careful. Jack Vincennes
has succumb to the call of money and celebrity.
He does not care less about law or justice. All this is becoming a simple
question of vanity. And yet, begins to see through his own fault.
Undoubted Spacey's performance is the best, because he is one of those
actors who do not have to try to communicate their emotions to communicate
(or at least is not good enough to show the ropes).
I had to see this movie several times to really take on the impact of their role, and
fully absorb his character. Its key moments in the center of the film
are absolutely unforgettable. When you look in the mirror of the bar
after receiving the hundred-dollar bill, that scene is a turning point for
character. And he was able to convey the message that the scene without
say one thing. And also, when asked why he became a policeman, delivering
that the next line, like Oscar deserves on its own.
Even apart from these three performances, it would have been totally
respectable if Danny DeVito and James Cromwell has received a nomination.
In truth, this movie was one of the greatest casts ever joint captured in
screen.
When a film evokes an era and the confidentiality ago, people take notice
. One could argue that it is easier to reproduce the recent past
farthest in the movie, and in a sense this is true. Costumes, language,
and the necessary absence of modern "period pieces" fazer expensive and difficult to film. But it can be argued that
is just so difficult to make a film about the more recent periods? I am not aware of how a
Victorian era, was set the table, or what is actually spoken as a gentleman;
are subject to the directors of view of reality. But what if a lot of his audience lived
the time it portrays, as in the case of
year 1950? I can even imagine my grandfather back in WW2
a booming economy, and living in the world created Curtis Hanson.
The real gender of this film is that not only creates a physical world, but with all
politics, corruption, racism and inequality of the time.
As a result we feel motivations of the characters and understand their flaws
all the best; Bud White, Ed Exley, Lynn Bracken and Lana Turner
we all live here.
This film, like others that make us believe that we are there for two hours (and
$ 7.50), will endure. I was thinking to perfection with a dual role would be
Chinatown, another film that will stand the test of time.

A film about two homicide detectives' desperate hunt for a serial killer who justifies his crimes as absolution for the world's ignorance of the Seven Deadly Sins. The movie takes us from the tortured remains of one victim to the next as the sociopathic "John Doe" sermonizes to Detectives Sommerset and Mills -- one sin at a time. The sin of Gluttony comes first and the murderer's terrible capacity is graphically demonstrated in the dark and subdued tones characteristic of film noir. The seasoned and cultured Sommerset researches the Seven Deadly Sins in an effort to understand the killer's modus operandi while green Detective Mills scoffs at his efforts to get inside the mind of a killer...

Glorious classic film musical. 1927: Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are the darlings of the silent silver screen. Offscreen, Don, aided by his happy-go-lucky friend and piano accompanist, Cosmo Brown, has to dodge Lina's romantic overtures, especially when he falls for chorus girl Kathy Selden. With the advent of sound in motion pictures, it is decided to turn Don and Lina's new film into a "talkie" and a musical at that. The only problem is Lina's voice, which mere words cannot describe. Thus, Kathy is brought on to dub her speaking and singing voice in secret, and Don's on top of the world. But then Lina finds out...

The Next Story is Part 1 of "That Yellow Bastard" starring Bruce Willis as a cop who needs to save a young girl from being raped. The Third Story (The Hard Goodbye) features Mickey Rourke and his revenge on a heartless killer who murdered his one-night stand. The fourth story (The Big, Fat Kill) stars Clive Owen as a man who must dispatch of a cop's body, but it will be a tough ride to do it. I caught the Philly pass a preview of "Sin City" yesterday, and I
to say my hat is off. Few movies comics have always looked good in
screen. The X-Men and Spider Man movies have done a good job breaking
that stigma. In my opinion, this
flicks have been a perfect fusion of Hollywood and comics universe, but "
Sin City" is raised to an art form, literally. It is hands down the best
representation of a comic book turned film ever. After the capture
trailer in a TV commercial, I was intrigued, to say the least. Therefore,
went to my local comics store and bought books of Frank Miller
the film is in basa, and enjoyed by his humor out of time,
incredible violence, and love stories , Lust, friendship, honor and
seedily deserved redemption in the fictional underworld in the city of Cuenca. Once again
contact with the comic shop owner, clued me in to spend the
the preview March 16 (yesterday as I put this), so as a
children on their way to pick up the latest issues of any comic
are very popular these days, I took the day off and went to the shows.
Having recently read the stories that are included in the film ( "Sin City
", later renamed to "The Hard Goodbye," "The Big Fat Kill" and
"That bastard yellow"), I was surprised how much of the dialogue and narration
of books that have really reached the big screen translation.
This coming from a man whose heart was booted by the
bastardization of "the sum of all fears," take into account - I know what it means to have
a book that love is not given loving the attention we think it deserves
when it hits the big screen. The dialogue is not always the best (this is a comic
, not Shakespeare, people) and even the best acting in
world is not going to change that. But seriously, if you're paying attention to
the minor defect, you're missing the point of the film to begin with
. Apart from dialogue, images of the film is something that
be seen, if you love stories or not. Igual
beautiful and harsh black and white, some brushes with color that all but
exploded outside the screen comics (graphic novels
for you purists) acted as a script for this movie-as life is breathed into
still images on pages. The "Book of the screen" which
Undoubtedly, there will be a feature in future DVD of this film
undoubtedly some jaws drop for those who have not bothered to
Check out the source material. Cold, cruel humor and over-the-top,
audience wince-inducing violence are mixed in the style of "Pulp Fiction
" and "Dusk 'Till Dawn" for obvious reasons But as I said before
is all direct from the books. Kudos to Robert Rodriguez
order not to compromise on the realization of this film and for its commitment to
the original source material, as well as its co-director Frank Miller
by its obvious contribution. And for those involved in it -
the cavalcade of them. My performance was rejected by Mickey Rourke
Marv to play absolutely perfect letter from the book (and he demonstrates
one of the best narrative voices I heard in a movie
from Morgan Freeman in "The Shawshank Redemption" ). Elijah Wood
not have a speaking role, but Kevin will continue his house as much as
Nick Stahl's Junior ago. Clive Owen is solid as Dwight (and I know a lot of
freak-fan of guys out there are upset that he was chosen for
character) and Bruce Willis does what it does best as a police officer not
Quitting, Hartigan. The standout performance is a female pull between
Rosario Dawson, either by his Valkyrie, a warrior, Gail Hooker, or (
kills me say that) Brittany Murphy as a "His Girl Friday" cocktail waitress
. The film is certainly not for all tastes, and children
should not be allowed even in buildings next to theaters showing this film-
but will most certainly be a hotly debated film as the creep
across Hollywood normally "telephoned-in, pre-summer" February / March / April
bids.
I have just returned from an advance screening of Sin City, and I can say that this is a
coil stationed on the height of a movie. Think of it as film noir
Amped up for a post modern century. It comes around like most of
Frank Miller's writing, modestly fantastic for the comic environment, but mired
long and hard in the tradition of crime meters
writers of "40 'S. Visually, the juxtaposition of the rich B & W with
digitally Technicolor-hued makes it difficult to take your eyes off the screen
. This film was made to measure for most people who have been
after Miller's writing for the last twenty odd years, brimming with
many elements of its brand and visual style that he, along with < br> Messrs. Rodriguez and Tarantino, capturing brilliantly. It is not for more sensitive
or younger, souls, Sin City will burn like fire
you have to be attentive to everyone else.

While returning from a deep-space mission, the crew of the commercial spaceship Nostromo is awakened by a supposed SOS call from a system they are passing through. Descending to the planet's surface, they discover a strange derelict spaceship - the apparent source of the transmission - and one of the crew descends into the hold. What he finds are thousands of strange alien eggs. While examining one of the eggs, it hatches and the parasite inside attacks him. After returning to the Nostromo the crew takes off again to head for Earth. The alien parasite subsequently dies and all seems well again. But what no one knows is that another alien is quietly forming within its host - and when it emerges, the crew finds itself in serious trouble...

In "Alien" still a man crew of seven en route to Earth aboard the space freighter
huge "Nostromo". The crew is in cryosleep, but in
onboard computer interrupts the journey when a foreigner is
radio signal picked up. It originates from a planet and uninhabited land
crew to investigate. There will contact with an Alien life form ...
What makes as big of foreigners is the constant feeling of malaise.
Right from the beginning you have the feeling that something is wrong. The crew
is not particularly friendly toward each other, and we all feel truly
tension in the group. The ship itself is a huge industrial style worn
maze of hallways and corridors, and feels more like a
prison than a place to live. It is as if not only foreigners but also
the ship itself is against human beings. The Alien is the scariest monster
of history because it is a ruthless, soulless parasite
totally devoid of any humane or civilized traits. The design of the
monster is a stroke of genius. Of course it has a humanoid form, but has not
facial features or anything else that could give
emotions or intentions. Its stock does not reveal weaknesses or civilized
intelligence. An Alien is more or less the opposite of everything
humane and civilized, plus the creature is more suited to the interior of the vessel
inhuman human beings who build it. In short,
then you have a place where human beings caught in a network of
tensions in the group, an inhospitable ship and the perfect murderer
that thrives on ships intestines. You almost get the feeling that
human beings are those who are Alienated from each other and with their own
vessel.
Ridley Scott tells the story with a mixture of perfectly synchronized
visuals and sounds.
The actors do a great job, portraying their characters in a subtle but very realistic
. The seven man crew is not a lot of Hollywood
heroes. They are ordinary people with strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes
. Thus, all seem so fragile when faced with
the enemy.
As mentioned the boat is very claustrophobic and Ridley Scott joins
eeriness camera using movement, light and shadow in a
effectively. The homes are bright and be comfortable
the crew, but there's something sterile about everything. The rest of
the ship is basically a huge basement.
Jerry Goldsmith's music underscores the eeriness as well, and
the film would not have worked without punctuation. Combined with the sounds of the ship
that all adds to the discomfort.
This is not a story about heroic people who boldly against teams
evil. It is a story about ordinary people confronting a fear, the fear
faceless. Fear can not understand and can not negotiate
because its sole purpose is to survive at the expense of us.
It is a story where some people struggle valiantly, while others are
destroyed by terror. It is a story where people died in a complete
at random. There is no higher order behind that justice reaches
live and who dies. The seven characters are only part of a race where
strong - not necessarily the most righteous - prevail, and all seven characters
start the race on an equal footing. None of them are real heroes
, and none of them are true villains.
All this makes Alien as big as a horror movie. Terror is not only
Alien himself, is the whole atmosphere gets so
actually under your skin, you can not shrug that
after the end credits, as you can with so many other horror films in Hollywood.
The title of "Alien" not only deal with the monster, is the subject of the film and
is the feeling that you have during and after the movie.
9 / 10
"In space, nobody can hear you scream." This is still my favorite slogan
ever for a film. When 'Alien' was released in 1979, which caused
almost as much talk about "Star Wars" was released when two years earlier.
The genre of science fiction is being revolutionized at the moment and
'Alien' is a horror that characterized him that it was psychological,
visually striking and convincing with the kind of strength in silence
not seen desde'2001: A Space Odyssey 'in 1968.
Definitely a big influence on the successful film, 'Alien' has led to three sequels
so far and is a great horror / science-fiction classic not to be missed.
director Ridley Scott is the best effort on the big screen for fazer fear of the best character in the film.

American Beauty is the greatest movie ever made.
If you have not already done so, see American Beauty for yourself and give yourself some time after
to think that over. You never, never to see life
the same way. It does exactly what movies are meant to do - gives us a window
in ourselves, and American Beauty makes better than any other film
has never done. There was no word of dialogue is unnecessary, not the exaggerated character,
everything is perfect ... but if you've seen American Beauty must
know that already. Once closer to seeing this film, and see the beauty in every
framework, it becomes so much easier to see closer and see the beauty in everything
around them. Do you think I'm waxing poetic? Then you have not seen the film
. Each character is a part of each of us: that of Lester Burnham
change, the uncertainty of Carolyn and failure, the rebellion of Jane,
defeated Barbara, the false control of Angela and Colonel, and the actual control
Ricky. To me Ricky, not Lester, is the center of this story, he
somehow controlled or launches downtown Renaissance and Lester
fall. There are several parts of this movie where I lose control
every time I see it, and none more than the paper bag scene. For me this scene
monologue is simply the largest ever written.
I heard the message of American Beauty - watch closely and you can find
Beauty in anything - and changed my life. I emerged from a long, deep depression and began
in the world. Sometimes there is so much
Beauty in the world, I can not even stand it, and it feels like my heart will burst
.
This is the most beautiful film I've ever seen.
I have come to see the film with a certain bias. Everyone is saying that
is so wonderful, so poignant, so excited - I usually tend to go with
films that nobody likes. However, this was a certain
exception.
It is a wonderful psychological drama, a satire on the americas
community and on American life; dark, painful irony and cynicism in the
descriptions of the lives and characters ; Deep sarcasm on the types of people in the community
, habits of behavior such as "... if you want to succeed, you must always
apparently successfully ... "or" never stop smiling, "parasite
the community, and, most importantly, treat people who are
" different "which are" freaky " to some extent, and ultimately no
character in the film that is not strange in its way, although we must wait for
the end of the film, to discover this.
With very deep and accurate exaggeration, (most of) the characters in the film
demonstrate the worst, darkest parts of his personality, while still
being very human, very touching and very participation of the observer.
Everyone can find a certain similarity with characters and people he met
in his life, the characters described in the film. The
tragicomedy comic
events, small pieces of funny, disturbing irony dripping from
almost every episode, lead the observer to the exploration of the American Beauty -
the beauty of life, and the manner in which we can not find it, for all our lives;
how to hide our feelings and emotions, even sullen behind the walls of our
tomb.
He is truly brilliant, the episodes are built logically coherent
dialogues are deep, exciting, intriguing, every phrase and every word
is deeply built , Containing a deep and intelligent irony elements
humors. The plot is very cleverly constructed, the construction of
a true indication of the plight of American society, and an excellent
ground for actors.
An incredible film, highly recommended. 10/10

(action, adventure, drama, war)
It is the height of the war in Vietnam, and U.S. Army Captain Willard (Sheen) is sent by Colonel Lucas (Harrison Ford) and a General to carry out a mission that, officially, 'does not exist - nor will it ever exist'. The mission: To seek out a mysterious Green Beret Colonel, Walter Kurtz (Brando), whose army has crossed the border into Cambodia and is conducting hit-and-run missions against the Viet Cong and NVA. The army believes Kurtz has gone completely insane and Willard's job is to eliminate him! Willard, sent up the Nung River on a U.S. Navy patrol boat, discovers that his target is one of the most decorated officers in the U.S. Army. His crew meets up with surfer-type Lt-Colonel Kilgore (Duvall), head of a U.S Army helicopter cavalry group which eliminates a Viet Cong outpost to provide an entry point into the Nung River. After some hair-raising encounters, in which some of his crew are killed, Willard, Lance (Bottoms) and Chef (Forrest) reach Colonel Kurtz's outpost, beyond the Do Lung Bridge. Now, after becoming prisoners of Kurtz, will Willard & the others be able to fulfill their mission?

Francis Ford Coppola on Apocalypse Now is an example of pure cinema
method. It is the true artistry of a filmmaker critical. The
art direction, editing and sound effects are partly a small fragment
that makes this film classic and memorable. What drives the integrity and
appearance of the film is the story, and internal message. The interior
message clearly enough that war is hell, or in other words, is a hell
war. Not many directors have the ambition or the true value of such
establish well-defined artwork. Filmmakers
Europeans do not have the slightest problem of directing the film or to launch their personal feelings about the war
. The most interesting is that a filmmaker talks about americas
his style and the style of the film collaborators across
continuity of the film.
The plot is fairly simple and brief, adapted by Joseph Conrad's Heart Of
darkness. Martin Sheen plays the role of Captain Willard, war-torn
character who sees no hope in mankind's life or more. The
and has a mission is to capture an alleged Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando) who
has produced an army of soldiers existensial on the outskirts of
jungle of Cambodia. Throughout the film we find surprising sequences.
The most unforgettable is the dawn helicopter attack.
Robert Duvall's Colonel Kilgore character is a constant and firm example of the U.S. base
army brain: search and destroy and then destroy some more if it includes
yourself. Children walk on the patio, unrelated to any danger.
helicopters come to see the dawn of the sea; million
reflect sprinkle water, we hear the roar of helicopter engines
the horizon soon enough and we are trapped in a disorderly attack. Throughout the sequence
heard Wagner 'Ride of the Valkyries ". This is the method cinema.
The starting sequence is as fascinating as the rest of the film, a
beautiful scene of palm trees blowing in the wind ripped away and seconds
become inflamed with a carpet bombing. And do not forget the scene where
soldiers in the boat travelling to Sheen, arresting an innocent
next boat, suspecting that VietCongs and performance Artillerie. Then
trigger a strong scene of the shooting in which all passengers
boat was pulverized into pieces with their crops and food
savaged in the atrocity.
This film has its famous moment, some better to be kept silent until
come across the screen. Do not require any intellectual
understanding, even though the film is intellectually remarkable. The
American soldiers in the Vietnam War jumped into the soil of a new government
country, in order to protect themselves and end only received death and chaos
of its troops and for most of the country were
fighting. This is a war gone mad, like all other wars, without purpose or
dignity. This is a pure act of humanity: to destroy and restore
greedy their own needs. This is a film in which there is no savior, where
is not possible to find hope in the gloomiest corners and where all
surroundings are plagued with the infatuations of greed, anger, selfishness and madness
. As Coppola once said about the film: "This film has nothing to do with
Vietnam. This film is Vietnam '. He was right to date. During the current
world situations, where they are trying to protect their own skin,
the world should try to analyse this film as far as possible and I wonder
about what they're trying to represent. It is a movie that does not ask
applause or condemnation. It calls realism.
Enjoy.
Somewhere in IMDb there is a discussion about the greatest director of all time
(Spielberg, Copolla and others are called there). The biggest
argument was about Spielberg and whether or not it is a great
director. The problem is that while he Spielberg is a master technician
, most of his films lack depth.Saving
Ryan is really outstanding from a technical standpoint, but his message is boring and while
its very entertaining, does not make you think about anything.
AN is the best movie I've seen, as it combines a great shot with
a deep philosophical perspective on many things, from the war
in general, the clash of civilizations, the status of soldier
in wartime (a soldier is a hero or a murderer? Brando said he
nor the French lady said it was at once ...) and many others.
The problem is that some people try to argue about whether these
points are true or false. However, a great movie, and a great work of art
in general is supposed to spark arguments, not to solve them ... Perhaps
Coppola is correct, or perhaps not, nobody has the truth anyway.
You can see this film for its beauty outside, incredible scenes, great acting and memorable quotes
and you will be fully satisfied. But what really
this film a masterpiece is its quality interior.
One can not help but make a comparison with the recent Fahrenheit documentary. Both
Copolla Moore and address similar issues, but at the same time presents Copolla
matters from an external, objective point of view, Moore takes
very partisan position that really commits an entire point
documentary ... It's really a pity that a film like Fahrenheit 9 / 11
won a prestigious award as Cannes. But anyway, if you want to start
to understand a little of the Vietnam War, the war in Iraq, the second World War and
of any war in general, you should see this movie, and not
the other ...

If I told you the entire plot of this movie really does not matter because
is an exquisite tribute to the subjectivity of memory and, therefore, is ambiguous in
yes, the "truth" of it depends you. You leave the cinema
questioning yourself, your memories, their truths. Nothing in this movie is like
apparently, and yet, paradoxically, everything is as it seems. We all
Guy Pearce through the characters' (Lenny) eyes, unfortunately, has no
short-term memory so they can not form new memories. The
have already forgotten the first sentence of this review. Lives in snapshots of life;
their only form of memory is her Polaroid camera, as in the excellent
Wintersleepers German cinema as well (in part), on a short-term memory
disorder.
In this movie Lenny taking snapshots to remember that people are, where
life now, his car, everything. As you can imagine this is perfect for paranoia,
suspicion, uncertainty, confusion and betrayal. And that is exactly what
put in extreme doses. The difference between this movie and Wintersleepers
however, is that Memento is absolutely the prospect of Lenny. Therefore,
creates an imaginative, creative film insurmountable. The film begins when
that must end, so far so trite, but here's the beauty, we, as Guy Pearce,
to learn fragments of what is happening. Therefore, it is perfect for those who love
to guess what will happen, what he did, that
is doing and why. The beauty of this film is that although my interpretation might be
so different from theirs, and none of us can rest assured that
interpretation is correct, if there is a right at all.
Nothing is certain, nothing is clear. Another beauty of this film is the way it is filmed and edited
. The pieces are shown a number of times with real nonlinear
link between them, as it would be if we ourselves had
a memory disorder, and then are cut and edited together with things that happen and
either before or after it. It's like holding ten and linearly
polaroids different in the hand and a short-term memory disorder.
Excellent.
I'm not even sure if the looks again will make things less ambiguous, but then
who cares? The ambiguity is what makes this a great movie, if
was not as cut, or Lenny perspective would be very
short and trite and devoid of tension, suspense and interest. But as it stands
has three, is not trivial and it says a lot about humanity. Oh, and
plot? It really does not matter, all you need to know is that everything
about this movie is a sample of the subjectivity of memory,
our experiences and interpretations of everything that happens to us. Nothing seems
as black and white as it did previously. You will each question
memory you have, almost as much as possess a degree in psychology, like me!
Therefore, go and see it: to be confused, they recognize the fragility of everything they know to be true
, and then imagine the freedom to be truly Lenny, and then the
Horror of having nothing, nothing but the dependence on a pen and a Polaroid camera
to know who you are.
If you're looking for something intense, suspenseful, and different
their usual effects-packed thriller, this is the best movie you'll see all year
. He spoke of Memento at work, at the grocery store
(with total foreign), and you will find
join talks when you hear the word "Memento." That's why this small film that received almost
marketing did not stay in cinemas for months
and was in the top 10 money makers for several weeks.
The film begins with a murder - a revenge killing, in fact. But it was the right person
dead?
Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce) is a man with no short-term memory. The
has been unable to form new memories from the night his wife was killed
. Now you're in a hunt to find the murderer, but not shaped
recall names, dates, places, facts and faces. Instead of tattoos
himself with memories of your search. When someone knows your name,
polaroids checks to see if he knows. How this person?
Do you trust this person? Is this the murderer? He did not know unless
is writing a note.
Do not worry about trying to identify with Leonard because
The writer / director Christopher Nolan puts him right in the shoes of Leonard. You live
history in reverse order so that you never know over
Leonard ago. In a scene that looks Leonard
obtain information from a person who knows him - maybe a good person, perhaps evil. In the next scene is
an earlier meeting between the two sheds more light
in their relationship. Later, still you see how they are enforced. But is that all
of history? You have yet to find out ...
and you will not know everything until the last scene. Unlike life, you, as
Leonard, are unaware of what came before.
is brilliant storytelling. But you might get frustrated because you
not know what is happening. That is normal. In fact, that's all
idea. Just sit back, try to relax (although this is difficult at this
film), and find out how twisted and complex world of Leonard.
This film will leave their own memories in your mind, and you'll have a
trouble forgetting how much you enjoyed it.

Fight Club is one of the most unique films I've ever seen. Besides
instead submit a fresh take on life, FC also presents its material in a fresh
. My main interest in the film is that, in my opinion, yes
not think this character for us. By contrast, presents
actions so that we can think. I will say that I can not remember ever * *
have been "asked" by a film both to suspend my disbelief how this film asks
its third act, and at the same time to reach agreement with the understanding that
no room - or need - of disbelief.
Perhaps these comments are meaningless to the average movie goer who
disallowing this movie - and, unfortunately, its premise - as another
hollywood film full of gratuitous violence. I am going so far as to say
that this movie has nothing to do with violence. It is about choices. This is
activity. This is lethargy. This is wake up and realize that in
sometime in the past we ido to the bathroom and thrown up our dreams
not even realize that society has kept his fingers down our throats
.
I would say that anyone caught at some point in their lives,
between a rock and a hard place - nobody has come to a fund mental
level - that no one has spoken to themselves "Wait, this is not right. I do not
is
/ say / feel it is fair that I did / said / felt ... I do not like this.
I have to change before I'm trapped forever being the person that I am not. "
These people, they will know what I'm talking about. These people not only
recognize the similarities between Edward Norton and character
themselves - that is uncomfortably familiar with him. These people are
We Fight Club for what it is: a call
alarm that we are not alone.
As David Berman once said: "I fear that I have more in common with
to me that I'm becoming. "If this sentence makes sense for you, go see
Fight Club. Do not be disappointed.
L.
For the world: This is not really a movie about dumb guys beating each other up
because they are too boring to do anything else. No, Fight Club is actually
on personal and cultural revolution within a consumer society that destroys the business
human spirit.
At least that is how I saw it.
I loved this movie, and it a rating of ten is not a whimsical fantasy - I do not
distribute gold stars for nothing. It looks good, sounds good pace,
dialogue, acting, etc. are all excellent. Why did not rate higher than
main critics of the lists for cinematography alone is beyond me
.
What really makes this film shine, however, is the unflinching way in which
seen in the company of Northern americas - our mass consumerism, our slavery
stuffy corporate office jobs, our growing lack of what makes us human. The
film does not pull many punches.
Norton's character is the automaton office lackey
which is desperately seeking meaning in his shell of materialistic life, Pitt plays the
today surfer / hippie tyler durden whose devil - may-care, spontaneous
attitude towards life offers the perfect (?) solution. These two personalities
struggle to reconcile their different perspectives on life
without destroying their relationship. To make things more difficult, Bonham Carter
creates a love triangle to test further the friendship.
Is it better be free, alive, and chaotic, as in the anarchist Pitt
vision, or safe, secure and dull as Norton's capitalist "American Dream"
life ? Or you can be a compromise? Can love overcome all? This is the
peripheral deeper things Fight Club is fact, not smell the action down
that trailers and critics focused on.
This film requires at least one viewing. If you are queasy about violence
(there is a graphic fight scene or two), then watch them with someone who
already seen and ask for an edited version. Even if you do not end
respecting the message of the film or the complicated issues that calls
remains a well developed film, worthy of recognition.

In 1950-something New York, an adventuresome free-lance photographer finds himself confined to a wheelchair in his tiny apartment while a broken leg mends. With only the occasional distraction of a visiting nurse and his frustrated love interest, a beautiful fashion consultant, his attention is naturally drawn to the courtyard outside his "rear window" and the occupants of the apartment buildings which surround it. Soon he is consumed by the private dramas of his neighbors lives which play themselves out before his eyes. There is "Miss Lonelyhearts," so desperate for her imaginary lover that she sits him a plate at the dinner table and feigns their ensuing chat. There is the frustrated composer banging on his piano, the sunbathing sculptress, the shapely dancer, the newlyweds who are concealed from their neighbors by a window shade, and a bungling middle-aged couple with a little yapping dog who sleep on the fire escape to avoid the sweltering heat of their apartment. ...And then there is the mysterious salesman whose nagging, invalid wife's sudden absence from the scene ominously coincides with middle-of-the-night forays into the dark, sleeping city with his sample case. Where did she go? What's in the trunk that the salesman ships away? What's he been doing with the knives and the saw that he cleans at the kitchen sink?

Ah is a film that IMDB's Top 20, and has good reason to be. For
starter let's look at the simple premise - James Stewart is
LB Jeffries, a photographer who is currently recovering from an injury in
assignment. With his broken leg that is trapped in his apartment,
with nothing better to do than spy on their neighbors and receive visits from his girlfriend, Carol Fremont
Lisa (Grace Kelly), his friend Wendell official, and his
nurse, Stella
. Jeffries observes the coming and goings of individual departments
can see him (Rear Window of his apartment) and is one of them - a
Raymond Burr - who drew attention for her. Could it be that men
has committed some heinous crime? Let's find out.
One of the beautiful things about the film is its superb use of
location.
The entire movie, bar a couple of brief scenes, is set in an apartment.
This seems claustrophobic, but Hitchcock never inhibits us from this type -
allows us to escape across Jeffries binoculars and cameras, and its
roving camera swoops to see what they see the characters (but never,
fortunately, nothing more than that - this is the way to make suspense!). The
set design is wonderful - the apartment is just the right size and is well established
. However, the praise is true for all other departments visible
for
Jeffries - a real livable conjunction with multiple stories where the characters
can be observed only when passing through their own windows (yes, no < br> carefully curtain). There is a sense of individuality in the past
to each house, even if only we can barely see elements of each. This is
helped by a pleasant range of different characters who inhabit each and
go about their daily lives - there is a mini-soap opera contained in
movie, all
those observed at a distance. Excellent material.
Acting? It's fantastic. There are some good depth to the characters here,
with them as real feeling of real people instead of one-dimensional spot
tags. Stewart is very competent in this type of paper - who was born in
-
and Kelly shows that it is more than just a pretty face, the management of its effuse
both as a matter of grace (* Groan *) and steel. Even the supporting characters are good
as Stella (which has a wickedly black sense of thinking that
hilarious). Why is it so incredible is that the characters can be seen from a distance
in other departments (and those who never actually interact
a) have so much depth as most main characters in the movies today.
Excellent script and acting in this movie.
Since he praised the series Hitchcock location and camera work, so no
prattle on around him more. Doing a job here and stellar,
in my opinion, this is the best piece of work that is done (I've seen). It
virtually flawless and you're never disappointed (or boring). Well done.
It is a pity that lost out on an Oscar (although it was tough competition
this year with `On the Waterfront ').
"Rear Window" is a great example of how to succeed in point
acting, script and direction and not feel the need for a lot of swear words and violence
free. Considered a classic, and deservedly.
9.1/10
"Rear Window" comes close to being the perfect Hitchcock film that illustrates
nearly all his great ability ...
Hitchcock demonstrated in "Rear Window" is a great voyeur who likes to spy on
his characters making each viewer into a voyeur,
forcing the audience to see everything his hero's point of view ...
James Stewart will be held in Manhattan his two-bedroom apartment with a broken leg
... The spends his time spying on his neighbors through a back window
orgy of voyeurism ...
Speaking of technical problem, "Rear Window" is Hitchcock
prototype ... Most of the film was shot on a set ... It is also confined
theater in particular, already taking place in a room ...
Hitchcock forces limitations in itself, as it did in "lifeboat" when
fired its entirety to a restricted group, only one boat ... And in "Rope"
(his first film Technicolor), where the only scene of the
production had only walls and furniture ...
After having their movements restricted, Hitchcock is required to be ingenious
in order to keep alive the curiosity ... The yard builds a realistic
apartments with people in it, and the restriction becomes a
power and technique of a fascinating example of what he chooses to
call "pure cinema".
Hitchcock camera tracks across the windows ... Never will
inside the apartments ... Never close-ups of the characters ...
We can only see what he sees Stewart ... We feel we are seeing people
through a window rather than in a movie ...
Hitchcock does not use any kind of music ... We hear natural sounds,
occasional live music played in nearby apartment ...
"Rear Window" Hitchcock at his best described by the way it works on several levels
, however, hides its own complexity ... Stewart, closely linked to
pressure from the high society of his girl who loves him and wants to marry him
... Everything you see out in conjunction with this problem ... Avoiding
to discuss marriage with her, although he himself does not seem
realize this ...
All the time, people in the 31 apartments that could see live out their little

composer / singer, the couple striking heat sleeping in a
Fire escape; newlyweds and lovers of tragic "Miss Lonelyhearts"
their fantasies and entertainment gentlemen callers
the hearing sculptor working around the clock,
vivacious and sexy blonde dancer "Miss Torso" that makes suggestive routines in bikini tops
and, most importantly, the hysterical "pressing wife" - in bed - and his
Grouchy fed-up husband, a seller of jewelry ...
One of the big shots "reveals the extent to which Stewart has become involved in your life when Miss
Lovelyheart - in his romantic dinner for two -
raises his glass in a toast imagination with his mistress and his
Stewart poses as well as glass ... The configuration

a night city shattered by the sharp sound of a strong cry and women
