What to say about this movie?
I am in a total loss to describe it. The concept itself, a son tries
reconciled with his dying father who knows nothing about, but a
huge catalogue of unbelievable stories, does not sound very promising.
This sounds like a tired old formula, and I hoped that when the lease began playing
not.
werewolves, giants, witches, Siamese twins, bank robbers, hidden cities,
sirens, etc. are all present in fantasy, but it seems that unremarkably
be part of the life of a trip otherwise ordinary seller.
If they really are or not is never completely clear, but that's the rub
.
I once read an account of Harlan Ellison in which the main point is how a lie told well
illuminates the truth in much better clarity than a mere recitation of facts
never can. At one point in the film, the questing child
comments to her bed father who heard all his stories
thousands of times, and he has idea of knowing that his father really is. The
father's response is, `I've never been anybody but me the day I was born.
If you do not know who I am, that is failing, not mine. "Subsequent investigations
that point clearer. I'll bet Ellison loved this movie.
This is an extraordinary lie.
Do I like movies? You bet. This is Tim Burton the best work without a doubt.
Is it for everybody? Probably not. Many will find it confusing and
useless, but good news is that as fantasy. All I can say is,
relax and let it happen. Do not be disappointed.
Will Bloom (Billy Crudup) is informed by his mother Sandra
Bloom (Jessica Lange) that his father Ed Bloom (Albert Finney) is terminal,
and travels with his pregnant French wife Josephine (Marion Cotillard
) her parents home. And Ed had broken relations
three years earlier, owing to the imagination and fantasy stories
said Ed Bloom about his accomplishments in his youth. Is it
find the true story of the mysterious life of his father, coming to an
surprising discovery in the final.
I am a great fan of Tim Burton, and I am convinced that "Big Fish",
along with "Ed Wood", are his best works. Starting with a wonderful and very optimistic
fairies in a dash of magic, a very
support storyteller and dreamer, who sees the world with beautiful eyes
. The selection of the cast is another highlight: the similarity between
outstanding actress Alison Lohman, "White
Laurel" and "Matchstick Men", and still very beautiful and also excellent
Actress Jessica Lange is amazing. Ewan McGregor and Albert Finney
are also a great choice for the role of Ed Bloom. Although
have a convincing performance, Billy Crudup is at a lower level of performance
, when compared with the rest of the cast, whose names
as Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Buscemi and Danny DeVito. "
Big Fish" is the kind of movie good to be seen many times. My vote is ten.
