The movie starts as a car has a hard time driving straight down the road in a residential area. We think some kid has stolen this car. Nah. It's the dad driving his son to school, and he's drunk. The teenage son must take over. So, adults give up all responsibility towards their children and mayhem can take place. The film shows one day in the life of several teenage students as they go in and out of classes. They live their student lives and we follow their steps through the corridors and doors, taking them as guides one by one, like avatars in a giant video game.

Elephant could have been a very beautiful short film. As
a feature length film, however, is terrible. And I fear that the reason that has come
so many positive comments is that people feel they would like.
Maybe if I were 16 I think this movie was spectacular too. But just because
is artistic does not mean it is good.
I did not have a problem with serving, indeed the murderer
dark hair was pretty good. And the fact that you never know why they decided to kill all
is acceptable. The biggest problem with the film was
which was filmed as a short, but it was more than 80 minutes. In a
feature film that requires the development of character. At least one. In
Elephant to learn more about John's drunk father than you do about it
and anyone else who had only two or three lines.
And these interesting camera techniques that Van Sant
employees needed to complement or contrast with something. If the movie ended with the surviving
murderer walking along a corridor as the credits rolled, then perhaps
the 20-minute walk of other people would not have been
useless.
My advice: if within the first ten minutes of this movie to find
you waiting for something to happen, stop watching. You save
you another 70 minutes, otherwise, you'll never go back.

Drugstore Cowboy" is a quasi-entertaining and promising first feature
most notable for its beautiful landscape of North West and even prettier
Heather Graham in his film debut, but nothing too special ever < br> followed, and "Pscyho" remake is an abomination at all levels.
Van Sant major films were successful for reasons beyond his
artistic input. "to die for" Nicole Kidman announced their first tour of
force, and "Good Will Hunting" launched the career of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck
for better or worse.
In this case, "Elephant" Van Sant returns to the same North West
pretty scenery (only one in "Drugstore Cowboy" movie was filmed on location in
Portland, OR) and is filled with beautiful even young men and women
sleepwalking through an "interpretation" of events in the
Slaughter of Columbine. There is an elegant indifference to the camera work
Van Sant as we rows in a mundane beautiful day in the life of some
at random high school students. There is a creepy c Conference, not only in the
voyeuristic manner in which his young charges films, but also in
the persistence of certain long shots of students walking through the corridors and sidewalks of
behind. Suddenly, as the plot of two young men alienated
comes to fruition, you realize that the camera work is intended to copy the
"killer's-eye-view" the violent and sadistic games
young people play rather than a reality in their school. There
an increase in tension that few filmmakers have been able to craft, and for Van Sant
that deserves praise.
For all artificial prettiness, this is certainly a great
disturbing viewing experience. After all, some of which seemed too random
(what is the point of "Benny" character or kiss in the shower
?), And culminating ambiguous with all strands
loose untethered. A story more capable of teller had offered a
conclusion, but everything is Van Sant leaves us with some disturbing
classical music and beautiful picture of a cloud covered the sky of the North West.
