A rare atmospheric phenomenon allows a New York City firefighter to communicate with his son 30 years in the future via short-wave radio. The son uses this opportunity to warn the father of his impending death in a warehouse fire, and manages to save his life. However, what he does not realize is that changing history has triggered a new set of tragic events, including the murder of his mother. The two men must now work together, 30 years apart, to find the murderer before he strikes so that they can change history—again.

'1999. Jim Caviezel stars as John Sullivan, a detective whose life is falling apart
. Recently, has been divided in comparison with his girlfriend, he and his police partner
Satch (Andre Braugher), are unable to solve a serial murder case
that has been reopened because of the discovery of the skeletal remains of a
last victim. The thirtieth anniversary of the death of his father
firefighter (Dennis Quaid), is also nearby. John is beginning to sink in a
pit of despair.
One night, John meets his father the old hams. The
makes an effort to get the machine to power up once again. When it does
and begins talks with another operator, however, realizes the person he is
is communicating with his father long dead. Somehow, due to the presence of
the Northern Lights, John is capable of transmitting back in time to 1969 and
literally alter the course of its existence.
The concept of travel time communication may seem quite preposterous for some people,
and "Frequency" is a bit difficult to understand sometimes, especially when the film never directly explained by
what the father and son are able to talk to each other
over time. However, the production works as
science fiction thriller with supernatural overtones. While filmmakers fazer convincing success in building "Frequency", most of the hearings could have
to abandon the logic in the theater before seeing the entrance.
"Frequency" is a well-structured film, the film focuses entirely
. Despite its change of pace in different periods of history, for the most part
the public can follow along with the characters. This is a film
with a complicated and difficult history. Due to the complexity of the film,
we are greatly concerned, if a little confused. Screenwriter Tobias
Emmerich ties original and fresh sensation of material here. Gregory Hoblit
produces the right amount of action and suspense, combined with soft
emotions, to create a film that we have not seen before.
Dennis Quaid and James Caviezel is the perfect choice for the main characters
. Quaid performed with intrigue and tension adequate
receptivity. Caviezel dazzles with intricate and dexterity. Offering refined
support functions are Andre Braugher ( "City of Angels", "Take the bus") and
Noah Emmerich ( "The Truman Show") who brings some light and little material
John as the best friend.
director Gregory Hoblit ( "Fallen", "Primal Fear") runs clearly
items on display. This film is overwhelmed by ideas and contains enough for a plot
television series. However, "Frequency" is not without flaws. Sullivan's
chaotic life is only vaguely portrayed. Despite the fact that we care for the
character, more development would enhance the relationship between the public and he
. Some of the make-up which represents effects of age differences were found
shameful. Andre Braugher seemed as if his composing artists straight
high school, slapping too wedge cream plaster on it. The
contrived climax the film concludes with a formality rather than fight
continues its battle of wits.
despite some problems unacceptable outside, internally it is a very
actual production. Taken together, "Frequency" contains a very
cover story and the characters more interesting places participation in the circumstances.
The film is certainly worthy of recognition, but not see it unless they plan
discuss in depth later.
An excellent film, which is a pleasant surprise. I can not remember the last time
I was in a movie where the audience applauded at the end, and
scenes during the movie, too. For what could be called a thriller, but that is only a
part of what the movie was about. It is full of good position
timely humor and sentimentality. There is a moment in the film was
wasted scene or a moment where I lost interest. Yes, a Hollywood ending, but
like most good things, is the journey not the destination that makes it worth
. I've seen happen to a preview, and I will go see again in
general release. I recommend highly. This is not an epic, but
is the best movie I've seen in years.
