In the iron mines of Northern Minnesota, circa 1989, a young woman (
single mother of two with a shadow of past lady) will be working as a miner and degrading encounters
personally harassment of the majority
men crew. A compassionate and responsive to rewrite a real incident - one
which took ten years to resolve in court - but possibly
overcrowded with too melodramatic content. Supporting characters
- Frances McDormand as a dump truck driver - do not get enough quality
screen full time to validate the time
have. Too much emotional final is also questionable (
these filmmakers were never in a courtroom before?), But it provides the audience with the release
you need. In the lead, Charlize Theron gives a finely-wrought
, gripping performance, it shows his courage, fear, courage and
, but I'm not sure how convincing it is like a mother aged < br> teenager (which seems a bit early to Theron, and the same can be said of
Sissy Spacek as the proverbial salt of the earth grandmother).
The film shows all sides and give both men and women a fair shake
? Probably not, but it is not a man of cinema hates so much, and since
be said of the female protagonist's point of view, their resistance against
some men is the central point here. Ultimately, the film is
about your courage, your strength in defending herself, and this is

Yes, this is a very gripping movie - because it's basically two hours of watching
Josey Aimes (Charlize Theron) to be tortured.
The whole world is against it, his friends, father and son, as well as his enemies
. Almost the entire film plays a note - his being horribly
abuses and accused and unfairly blamed - over and over and over again.
That is not my idea of entertainment. If yours, then you
love this movie! P.S. He found his father's sudden reversal at the end
completely unjustified (although certainly welcome). Ditto the other
women in the plant 1) is totally against it and blaming her, and
2) then flipping just in time for the magic ended optimistic. This film
has it both ways. It exaggerates both melodramatically abuse and
the miraculous happy ending.
