Set in the Rocky Mountains of Montana in the early 1900s, this is a tale of love, betrayal, and brotherhood. After being discharged, Colonel Ludlow decides to raise his three sons in the wilds of Montana, where they can grow up away from the government and society he has learned to dispise. The three brothers mature and seem to have an unbreakable bond, until Susanna enters their lives. When Samuel, the youngest of the three, returns from college he brings with him his beautiful fiance, Susanna. The eldest son, Alfred, soon finds himself in love with his brother's fiance, and things get worse when he discovers a growing passion between Susanna and Tristan. Colonel Ludlow's favorite son, Tristan is willful and as wild as the mountains. As the brothers set out to fight a war in Europe, suspicion and jelousy threatens to tear apart their once indestructable bond.

I watch a lot of movies and I can not remember the last time I held a film
so spellbound. Not only are the characters and participate
vividly portrayed by an excellent cast, the subtle dynamics of their interactions are portrayed with
Undertones inspired and nuance. Star billing or even
Oscars have also been awarded to the spectacular beauty of landscapes
Montana for the great majesty afforded.
This complex story of love, pain and loyalty is told with stark simplicity
by age Stab, for a long time friend to retired Colonel Ludlow &
their 3 children : Alfred staid, the largest ( "old even for his years");
idealist Samuel, the youngest ( "There is nothing that these brothers
not do for him."); Wild and Tristan ( "Those people become crazy or
become legends."). The conflict between the fierce Ludlow
against the government in anti-war stance and his sons "
determination to do what they see as their duty is only part of the story, the heart of the story
Is the rift that threatens the loyal devotion of these mutual 3
as brothers who all come to love the same woman. "She was not
fault," Stab says, "She was like ice that freezes in the rock and
also divided."
A tragic story, yes; heartbreaking at times, but never boring.
Each time I have felt some knew what was then the plot took another unexpected turn
and I sat there riveted, breathing softly "Wow!"
Now and again in the dark . This film immediately became one of my
all-time favorite that I've seen half a dozen times since then and
its scope and power forward still me.
I can not believe the bad reviews Legends of the Fall came when he was
released. This should be one of the best movies of all. All
of acting to address was brilliant and breathtaking scenery was

Anthony Hopkins gave another knockout performance as Colonel Ludlow and
Brad Pitt was brilliant as Tristan.Aidan Quinn, Henry Thomas and Julia Ormond
were perfectly cast as Alfred, Samuel and Susanna.
The only thing I liked most about this movie is the end - I will not spoil
. It's rare when watching a movie, you can not pick the final. The
to end this movie was so amazing, and the fact that it was not clear what would happen
this movie made more enjoyable.
James Horner is a teacher. As it did with Titanic, the score
Legends of the Fall took the film to another level.
