This film is much better than the 1936 trash-fest that no simple comparison
can do it justice. Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical
is an intelligent, witty and well done parody of American paranoia, using the original plot
Reefer Madness as launching point for satirized McCarthy,
fundamentalism, race and obsession with privilege, wealth and
'farming', so sadly that have tarnished our history.
Unlike the original, almost everything in this production is done right
. The likable characters are good and the villains are truly despicable
. The addition of a good set of tunes fun
helps to keep the plot in motion along (one of the greatest failures of the
original film was incoherent and often painful withdrawal plot),
and the use of some talented players Broadway (Christian Campbell and Kristen Bell
are especially fun to watch) and a dash of guided
rational thinking versus ignorance (as was the case in 1936), < br> all make this film unusually entertaining and fun (the author
generally dislikes straight comedies and has very high standards for
musical).
(Sorry for all the statements in parentheses) Most of you are probably
aware of the plot, so I will summarize what distinguishes this from the original

. Spurning his high school sweet heart and terrifying his family, Jimmy
is sinking deeper and deeper into a pot of crazed state of
insatiable lust, violence and - of course - jazz. Lastly, this version ends
Unlike the 1936 film - but I will not give away the conclusion.
For me, giving a musical comedy is a 7 some of the highest praise I can give
(The Wizard of Oz, Tommy and Singin in the rain get 9s), so that if
you're in this sort of thing, you really should check this one.
Tonight in this show that I saw the pure genius that is Reefer Madness!
As a lover of musical theater I appreciated the film at the beginning
when the school play "Green Grow The Lilacs," which is the game
the musical "Oklahoma" in basa. Not only was
although this film hysterical all the way through, but the music was incredible
and book and lyrics were outstanding, but above all that he was
Elegant! To take an old movie as Reefer Madness and turn it into a musical
and a pure political satire was brilliant! All
performances were outstanding, but I Ana Gyster stole the show! She is simply incredible
, his voice, his comedy moment, and every little nuance
added that his character! Christian also Campell
incredible! In fact there were no performance or part of this movie that
was a mistake ... if you're smart and have a good sense of humor you'll love
IT! And if I could rate this movie higher than 10 yo! Rob P.S
