This is a film that will test their definition of gender and
redefine the meaning of love.
The real life story of Calpernia Addams and its success yet regarding the tragic
soldier who fell in love with her, Barry Winchell. Firstly, this is one of
the best movies I've seen
. Originally made for HBO that could easily have done the big screen.
Frank Pierson directs with gentle hand to poetry and delivery vehicle that could have been impractical in
Other hands. Ron Nyswaner's script is so strong and deep
Pierson is well supported. The cast is
murderer. Troy Garity offers a surprisingly subtle image of the
soldier Barry Winchell. Barry is not an intellectual, but much more emotionally intelligent
that those around him
. The falls in love with an exotic dancer transsexual Calpernia Addams
for all the reasons
a man who generally for any woman. She is intelligent, beautiful and below
dancers
facade of a real woman who yearns for someone who cares.
Lee Pace played Calpernia faces an enormous challenge that he really is a man but
an actor is so powerful that you only need to convince the moments that the heart of < br>
this character is really a woman. A classic actor formed Pace finds a way to give both the
Calpernia
precise movement of a woman still fragile heart of a romantic adventure in danger. I hope that
Steps future is not stunted because of this role after the handover of this kind of performance that
will be really difficult at first. Pace is manifested Calpernia so well that defies
its physical reality.
This feat is beyond most actors in Hollywood.
Added to the mix is the male soldier named Justin Fisher that Befriends
Barry
only to become the cause of his death. . A soldier who hardcore himself to drugs
match the demands of being the best of the best Fisher is the same both a homophobe,
jealousy
Barry competitor for the attention and dangerously loose cannon. Played by Shawn Hatosy
the performance is quite impressive. I swear I've known guys like this in my life
. Shawn Fisher delivery
with incredible realism and rawness. A male with redneck
disturbing secrets. You
Fisher hatred, but pity the way it is pathetic as a human being that is.
Brilliant work. Very rare.
Hatosy gives a perfect delivery. Ultima
is the new arrival Calvin Glover, a wet behind the ears soldier who
Fisher
easily dupes to carry out their vendetta against Barry. Played by Philip Eddolls the team
Fisher and
Glover fits perfectly. Fisher power to dominate Glover and ease
puppet manipulated.
Too stupid to even understand the seriousness of his crime Glover is someone who
recognize.
Eddolls is nothing new in trying to give us Glovers
small man complex.
If you are homophobic at all that probably does not like this movie, but if you
cree
that love transcends the physical sexes gives you will be moved. Despite

I will not add to the insightful comments made so far in the
paradigm of today's society. Instead
I would note the following:
I understood perhaps for the first time in my life radically new
viewpoint.
In the past, my smug assumption that a transsexual is' just 'a man
beings to be accepted as a woman. "duh", some of you might say, what else could be
?
Well, what I saw in this jewel of a film, this magic lantern
soul so to speak, was something else. I saw that nature is the same
actor.
In a nutshell (possible bad word for me to use here!) what we see now is
; some are really opposite sexes within genres. In this movie I was surprised
blindly as the Bible of Paul with the vision of a woman
rotten soul mans inhabit a body, so it 'just' live life with
so much dignity as a society allow.
If this is true even marginally, we are all accused of barbarians and
cavedwellers to not see the obvious ... and the lid on 'The
Pandora's Box of the ordinary "has finally been lifted versus lovingly
its hinges and thrown into the abyss! Thanks
writers, directors and actors to portray --- especially
that everyone, and so well!
