Despite expectations that had (see the trailers)
that this might be a good movie, I was surprised that it is still as good as it is
. The story is really more complex than I expected, with the participation of
cursed pirates and their quest to get rid of the curse.
I will not say more than that to not spoil if they have not seen.
No action scenes as many as he had thought there would be no
in a pirate movie, but those in the film are very amusing and pleasant
. After launch, I think we had a proper balance
action and drama. There are, of course, a lot of funny bits
interspersed between action and drama. Some very good special effects
also add to the enjoyment of this movie.
I was not a big fan of Johnny Depp until I saw this movie.
I think he deserves to win the Oscar for best actor. It is largely
because of his performance, IMO, the film was so good. Most
the cast did well, mind you, only that it was Johnny Depp
well above the rest. I did find Orlando Bloom's performance a little
wood, but other than the acting was good.
Basically, it's a very funny film and I would give it about 8 out of 10
