In 1938, two aspiring comic strip talents, Jerry Siegal and Joe Shuster, published a character that would create a new genre of fantasy, Superman, the first superhero. This film explores the creation of the character and his subsequent evolution over the decades through various media. With various interviews of noted creative luminaries, the film shows how the character has adapted to the times and bounced back from times when he felt irrelevant to always regain his prominence as one of the great heroes of popular culture.

Good for the fans. Definitely good for the fans. But too
Americna style of a documentary to be taken seriously.
As to date, no one can doubt in
considering this as pure documentary "propaganda" for 2006 release Superman. Images
although it is magnificent. The comments and descriptions are terribly bad, just
puppets on a string.
This is just a fact especially serious for fans of the genre. He could have done better if
has already would have shown footage of each
film, especially older ones, since they remind us of previous generations

also comparisons with American politics (and subsequently
gains and failures) is not in question here, but it is deliberately used to
support the marketing of a product. Peope made as a result of
Superman comics and films, not because of politics!
Only for hardcore fans.
Originally broadcast on A & E network, this excellent documentary
covers the entire history of Superman. Since the early 20 century
comics to today's television and movies, this
Kevin Spacey-narrated piece covers much of the Superman mythos. Textiles
in this story is how all this was affected by
and reflects the culture around him, from world wars to 9 / 11.
As a fan of Superman, this is a must-see. The A & E (and later in2TV.com)
program is 90 minutes. A full 2 hours of DVD will be released on June 20
2006. This viewer is not only looks forward to "Superman Returns",
but also the release of A & E documentary.
