Based on the letters of Colonel Robert G. Shaw. Shaw was an officer in the Federal Army during the American Civil War who volunteered to lead the first company of black soldiers. Shaw was forced to deal with the prejudices of both the enemy (who had orders to kill commanding officers of blacks), and of his own fellow officers.

Apparently there's a lot of comments contained arguing whether
Mathew Broderick is a good choice to play Colonel Robert Shaw
or not. All I can say is that he makes the film work for me. If
Broderick played by the party or not, I could not imagine any other actor
more appropriate for the piece. Not only are their looks and age
ideal for recreating the individual was, but his performance
Gould gave the personality he needed, as someone
; It was idealistic, young and somewhat Callow, but ultimately
displayed great maturity and great courage. Although
Denzel Washington's performance is much stronger
(and rightly so), I found honestly Broderick character of most

Climate of the battle, I felt great empathy for each of the
characters, especially Colonel Shaw. I suppose that I am playing
Shaw as a quiet place of great presence, Broderick is capable of

Broderick goes where. I would be interested to see Ferris Bueller
now that I have established Broderick in my mind as a civil war
official. We are happy here anyones comments on the subject.
This is an ambitious film and it succeeds in everything that establishes
conduct. Gloria was not basa in the visual aspects

Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washingtion, Andre Braugher, Cary Elwes, and
Jihmi Kennedy. The characters in this movie are wonderfully
well developed and relationships between these men
adds a dimension that is rarely seen in modern movies. Each performance is Oscar-Calibur,
in general, this is a film that now are classified as a classic for all time
. Simply amazing.
