New York cop John McClane, who has been a cop for 11 years, has just arrived in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve. For the past six months, John's wife Holly and their two kids Lucy McClane and John McClane Jr have been living in Los Angeles without John. In New York, Holly had a good job that turned into a career, and Holly was promoted to a powerful position in the Nakatomi Corporation. The promotion called for Holly to move to Los Angeles to work in the Nakatomi Plaza, a 40 story building. John stayed in New York because he didn't think Holly would make it out in Los Angeles, and that she would come crawling back to him in New York, so John figured that there was no reason to pack his things for the move to Los Angeles. A limo driver named Argyle drives John to the Nakatomi Plaza, and John heads to the 30th floor, where a Christmas party is going on. John gets into an argument with Holly in the office of her drug-snorting co-worker Harry Ellis because Holly uses her maiden name Gennero instead of the name McClane on her nameplate in her office. Holly leaves the room to give a speech. While John is by himself in the office, John is wishing that the argument hadn't happened. A few minutes later, a group of German terrorists led by Hans Gruber and his right hand man Karl enter the building and take everyone hostage on the 30th floor. John is able to avoid being taken hostage because Hans and his men don't even know that John is in the building. John heads to the upper floors, which are still under construction. Hans takes Holly's boss Joseph Yashinobo Takagi to an office, where Hans demands that Takagi give him the computer code key that will allow Hans and his men to start opening the building's safe so they can steal the $640,000,000 in negotiable bearer bonds that are in the safe. Takagi refuses to cooperate with Hans, so Hans kills Takagi, and John witnesses it. Hans tells his technology expert Theo to start working on getting the safe opened, and Theo thinks it'll take a couple of hours to do it. John frantically tries to find a way to alert the LAPD, realizing that the main phone lines in the building have been cut. Once the police do arrive, they prove to be incompetent under the command of arrogant deputy chief Dwayne T. Robinson, so it's up to John to rescue the hostages.

Quite possibly the best action film since the modern classic "Dirty Harry
"
"Die Hard" simply rocks. Based on the novel interesting "
Nothing Lasts Forever" by Roderick Thorp, "Die Hard" in the headlines for its combination of
a wonderful cast, great script, action sequences
incredible and magnificent direction. Led by screen favorite Bruce Willis (The Sixth Sense),
"Die Hard" also features the talented Alan Rickman (Galaxy Quest) and
Bonnie Bedelia (Things needed). Directed by action veteran John McTiernan,
brain behind this spectacular action as "Predator," "hunting
Red October", "The Thomas Crown Affair" (1999), and " ;
Die Hard With A Vengeance. "
In the role that shot him to stardom, Willis plays detective John McClane,
a tough New York police in the Christmas holiday in LA. The
is there to visit his wife (who is separated from), Holly Gennaro, who recently won
a great job working for the corporation Nakatomi, and
has permanently moved to Los Angeles with her two sons. John reaches Nakatomi Plaza
expecting a fun Christmas party and a relaxing night. The man was bad!
A few minutes after receiving repeated twelve firearms-toting Eastern Europeans take
entire floor 30 hostages. The alleged terrorists were headed by the
brilliant megalomaniac Hans Gruber (Rickman) who actually wants the
$ 640 million in the vault floor. Somehow, escapes McClane
top
armed only with a pistol and began to cause a Ruckus, slowly hunting
each well equipped bandit.
"Die Hard" is successful is because each challenge presents
McClane must face with realism and clarity. As tension mounts, the evidence for
John
increasingly difficult. Firstly, it is simply a terrorist. Then
a whole bunch of them. Later, the police and even the FBI! Director McTiernan
the film gives a good pace and makes the film shows the work that John
is not superhuman; who only uses his brain more than his pistol. Also,
screenwriters Jeb Stuart (the fugitive) and Steven E. de Souza (48 Hrs.)
add touches of humor to lighten the viewer and a classic line
( "Yippy-Ki-Yay, !@#$") to ignite the screen. His subplots of
add to the story rather than overcomplicating, especially with a good cop
Sgt. Al Powell (Rejinald VelJohnson TV "
Family Matters").
In general, this movie is impressive. Willis is very credible and has significant presence
screen. Character development is excellent, and even though Stuart
De Souza and leave some loose ends untied - like how a man
are hung with a chain and further back - the film continues to be
an action classic. Note to parents: nudity, drug use, continuous
blasphemy, and extreme violence make this a bad choice for children under 13
. Otherwise, see "Die Hard" as soon as possible!

Bruce Willis provides an incredible performance in perhaps one of the best films of the decade
1980. This is an action / adventure film ages.
There is a lot of great scenes, including the scene in which Bruce Willis jumps off the roof of
and accidents across the window. I never thought it would be so good
when I first saw him, but I was wrong. Do not miss one of Willis'
best movies of all time.
