It is ironic that I'm saying "many people missed the point" because I do not
too. My original review in IMDb gave the film an assessment negative. I
removed months ago, because I have already bought the Director's Cut
on DVD and in love with her.
The film is energetic, imaginative and unique.
Is taken from Irvine Welsh's novel, now really want to read. This is a group of heroin addicts
(headed by Ewan McGregor's Renton) in Scotland who can not seem to live their last
addiction ... everything revolves around drugs.
"Trainspotting" was sentenced to promote drug use, but I agree with Bob
fellow reviewer Moo claims that it was a misinterpretation in the media
communication on his behalf - Yes, you can show the drug as "fun" sometimes
(as Renton's crazy hallucination), but certainly not glamorize
them. Some of the sequences are sickeningly realistic and depressing -
as the scene with the baby. That is something tragic, and totally unexpected
. It is also effective because the point that in the film that
care about the characters enough to affect us on an emotional level
.
The film was very popular in the UK, but never received one of the most popular
abroad. Americans in general will always be less liberal and faster
a damn movies for their messages. "Taxi Driver" was hailed by Europeans
en'76 ... I can not say the same critics of U.S. -- This is a great
division of opinion at the time.
Ibid. Most Americans do not really "get" and the only
attention it received was the controversy surrounding the appearance of
Mr McGregor's genitals. Oh, the humanity! If you have not seen
"Trainspotting", however, I recommend. Not off to
first for his mood somber and sick content - I will not lie, this is a rough ride
... but in the end, it's worth.
Renton is addicted to heroin. He is part of a group of friends who live their lives every day
and struck paste. When it comes to foster the habit of it
manages it for a while but eventually falls back into his old form. Meanwhile
his friends are as dilapidated as it is, whether
Spud's pathetic addiction,
Begbie violence rages or the fact that he is sleeping with a girl who
still goes to school.
When this movie came out was very hyped, the poster became a must-have
ignition
each student's room wall and the media were nuts about her supposed
glamorisation of drug use. The plot is very difficult to summarize because
not really have a narrative flow than
very disjointed experience of Renton. However, it manages to be very fun and imaginative
all the way, using different tricks and plays to be fun. The
dialogue is very well written and I must admit that I found a lot of fun
that
I watched the latest comedies.
The media may have condemned this film as the promotion of drug use, but I can only
imagine they saw a film different from me. Of course, the film shows
drugs as fun and enjoyable but, as Renton says, `Why else do we
? "However, the film clearly shows a huge disadvantage in that people
lives are destroyed, people and life OD go every day trying to get
high. It is true that it shows this negative aspect in an elegant and fun, but
there is no question that the film is promoting drug use in any sense
.
Too often I see films that are style over substance; Trainspotting gives
simply perfect, stylish, but not at the expense of dialogue, character or
film.
is helped by a large cast. McGregor jumped to stardom outside the rear of
this role and what he deserved. The character remains sympathetic, but both
repulsive at the same time, and carries the film with surprising ease. The
supporting cast is excellent, even if the same lack of morality
Renton. Whether the comic Bremner, violence or the Carlyle
tragic
McKidd. Although not all his characters are well developed, they do all
give good accounts of themselves, whether comic or is showing the effects of
heroin in their lives.
In general this is a great film that is refreshing to see now
without all the cool student `cult 'hype or the media feeding frenzy involving more pro
-drug approach. It is elegant, fun, and frankly depressing
sobering.
