(action, adventure, thriller)
A high-adrenaline tale of young climber Peter Garrett (Chris O'Donnell), who must launch a treacherous and extraordinary rescue effort up K2, the world's second highest peak. Confronting both his own limitations and the awesome power of nature's uncontrollable elements, Peter risks his life to save his sister, Annie (Robin Tunney), and her summit team (Bill Paxton and Nicholas Lea) in a race against time. The team is trapped in an icy grave at 26,000 feet - a death zone above the vertical limit of endurance where the human body cannot survive for long. Every second counts as Peter enlists the help of a crew of fellow climbers, including eccentric, reclusive mountain man Montgomery Wick (Scott Glenn), to ascend the chilling might of the world's most feared peak to save her.

In this high-octane action film, three climbers make stupid decisions
to 26000 feet, en route to the summit of K2, the second
world's highest mountain. The climber from danger and therefore requires a ransom, which
puts additional people in the mountains and the risk of dying. That's it.
The story is therefore quite thin, but the filmmakers insert
all kinds of natural and human obstacles, conflicts and difficulties in the rev
action and excitement.
The film's CGI creates compelling tension. We have the illusion
vertical scale, or perspective, which translates into a needed sense of
Vertigo. The feeling that the characters could, at any time, falling to his death
the film is force.
The mountainous landscape is also nice, although it is sometimes wasted,
because of the fast-paced film. Cinematography is quite good. And some
the scene transitions make the movie flow very well.
dialogue seems flat to me. Production and costume design are adequate.
act is largely irrelevant.
For now, the biggest defect is the sum of unrealistic action. In
plot, everything that could go wrong goes wrong, bad weather for
avalanches in the explosion of nitro to human conflict and discord. It's all a bit much
. However, appears to be a problem inherent in the open air
action films. Directors cram too much into chaos. Another
least is the background music, which is irritating
nondescript. To set up a film mostly in Asia, could have wished
more indigenous music that, when combined with the majesty of the mountains
, could have added emotional depth and a sense of mystery and awe
.
"Vertical Limit" have an emotional backbone of its history, but that is secondary to the super
action plot. Viewers who expect well-thought
characters, careful plotting, or a subtle "issue" will have to see
elsewhere. This film is strictly for people who like heavy outdoor
action.
How can someone spend so much money and make a picture like this?
The effects were good, but how many really stupid / bad things can happen in one
a movie or a person's life. If only two of the many, many
disasters that happened in the film happened in real life would be like lightning striking that
twice. Everything that made the actors (
pretending to be the best of the best climbers) seems to go against them. Really, do you cree
a professional climber who left his backpack in which
could slide down the mountain? This is your life we are talking about. How about a nylon rope climbing
matching two feet above the ground just after a stop
long autumn. You can not see the breath of anyone and it's cold up there. But
Thus, there is no flame fires that I know of (unless fuel
contains its own oxygen) anywhere near that altitude. Or how about a professional climber
(which relies on good lungs) who smokes. In truth,
enough is enough!
If you can not think that you might like this movie, but you have some brains
, no! No real plot development - only special effects and more
again and again ... Unfortunately, even plausible special effects. Jumps of a crevasse
(do not know that was there before they took that route) and
really stuck on the other side. Come on!
could go on and on but I will not. Nice though landscape. I like actors
but not in this movie.
Well, that is to have and my gratitude.
