When an eccentric millionaire offer a group of opposites $1,000,000 to spend the night in a so called "Haunted House" with a murderous past, they figure it is a quick way to get quick money and leave. All of them are sure it is some made up story just to mess with their heads a little and test their courage. But, once they stay in the house they start to think about the mistake they made in coming there when mysterious things start to happen.

I've seen some of the comments on the film here, and disagree with many
. I thought the movie to be entertaining (William Castle
not have
he wanted?) And that really paid tribute to the original in many ways
(how many remakes never do that? General add a
Flavor of the month star, a lot of changes irrelevant plot and a
banda sonora de una banda had been or one that never should have been). As
bonus, a supernatural element was brought to this film that was not there
in the original version. I've seen a lot of complaining about the final, but
hey, sometimes life sucks and I could see something like this happening to me
. To tell the truth, I have to say that this remake is
better than the first version. And this is a stone cold believer that
Karloff is the best monster of Frankenstein and Dracula Lugosi best. Tongue in cheek
is this movie - James Whale
would have loved it.
I've never seen William Castle's original 1958, but in my opinion,
1999 version is not entirely bad.Director William Malone
creates some atmosphere and suspense during the first hour, but everything is almost entirely
Blighted by terrible ending.There 's a good Gore, and striking visual
establishes the atmosphere, but the conclusion is absolutely lame (see CGI effects
really wrong!). If you like horror movies give this a look, just
not expect anything impressive.
