Rich playboy Charley Pearl meets Vicki Anderson, singer at a nightclub. But she's a gangster's-moll, Bugsy Siegel's, and when he finds the two of them in bed, he forces them to marry each other. Charley was going to marry his girlfriend but when she finds out about him and Vicki, she leaves him. And Vicki doesn't seem to be his kind of woman at all...

Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger struggle to entice soggy comedy about a playboy
ne'er-do-well who marries and then divorces the same woman, a
torchy singer and one-time gangster's Moll, again and again. Fairly
ugly little film, written for the screen no fewer than Neil Simon,
reiterates its meeting cute formula to a certain bleary-eyed resentment
sets in. This is not a promising idea in the sense film, and
director Jerry Rees can not do outside the track (despite a lively opening). Well
supporting actors Armand Assante, Robert Loggia and Paul Reiser
are not much help. As for infant terrible Baldwin and Basinger:
at this stage in their careers, neither was capable of carrying a photograph. Baldwin is broad backed and wiry
but green and nervous; Basinger is safer than a performer, but
can not find strong for her in this material. ** In ****
