The above summaries do a great job of describing the dynamics of the love triangle that develops between the two pilots that fall in love with the same nurse. The movie also does a credible job of displaying the war from the American side with FDR and our side. It also shows the strategy of Japan as they plan for and execute all facets of the attack on Pearl Harbor. While all details may not be historically correct, I believe that they do the job well - all things considered. Historic events that were altered were probably done so in an attempt to also make this movie the entertaining epic that it is.

What a great movie, this might have been! The recreation of the attack on Pearl Harbor
is one of the best movies ever - and an extraordinary sequence in motion
made entirely credible state of the art special effects.
It ranks up there with the opening sequence of "Saving Private Ryan" and
the sinking of the Titanic as one of the most harrowing "disaster"
sequences filmed in recent years . But, as both the other two films,
Pearl Harbor was in desperate need of a decent script to frame the disaster
sequence.
Well - I could almost accept the Hokey old romantic love triangle plot -
then, the stars are great to see - but the dialogue really sucked:
"I do not think I ever to look at another sunset without thinking of you. "
please! And all those shots hero of the earth, and the slow-motion love
bit, and the soppy music, and the eternal sunsets ...
But this movie is what you really need an editor! The climax of the film is
the attack on Pearl Harbor - a defeat of americas. But it seems that the
- the film makers decided that the American audience would not be satisfied with
this - and so the cinema and grinds in an hour or so dramatising
an attack in revenge Japan. And we are supposed to believe that this attack was waged by
the same guys who were on the ground in Hawaii. I mean we all know that
United States won the war in the end, so did we really need this
long epilogue?
Personally I cut all Roosevelt and the Japanese high command
scenes and focus on the experiences of people on the ground in
Pearl Harbor. The Japanese all things is absolutely incredible anyway.
The sad loss would be the superb performance of Jon Voight as Roosevelt -
but perhaps we could make another movie about him. I also end the film
after the attack on Pearl Harbor, as survivors collect pieces.
So why not take a short Director's Cut - a new concept - that makes this film
the great movie that could have been. If you like going to provide the
scissors!
I wasted three hours of my life watching this crap. Sure as hell that I won `t be
losing too much time writing a lengthy review.
hated this movie, it `s so full of anachronisms and clichés and I` m so glad
everyone else has pointed out, but the two that I did
laugh Josh Hartnett, announcing "the Second World War has just begun."

because I thought that the producers and screenwriter has
used every cliché in the book
that point. Nice to be proven wrong, even though they don `t think I` ll
proved wrong when I say Affleck never win an Oscar for his acting ability
.
My heart had a good little vacation when I learned that flopped
both commercial and critical. Maybe now the Hollywood system
concentrate on making films with good scripts and shortly before the bankruptcy
FX. Despite having said that if someone in Hollywood is thinking
make an overproduction as ridiculous as this or TITANIC based on 9 / 11 I `d
be very happy to see bankruptcy Hollywood
