Firstly, what is for the parties: While Christina Ricci cool image
Katrina gives the character of an appropriately otherworldly aura,
she really could have used more fire in emotional moments. Some scenes are
unduly rushed, including some crucial exposure, making the plot difficult to follow
some points. Finally, Danny Elfman music is too intrusive in
times, distancing viewers when brought in
That's all what's wrong with this picture, everything else is perfect or
Almost. Tim Burton's films are always visually rewarding, and this has
Moody terrifically atmosphere. Having lived in hilly, forested areas
near rivers and streams, I can attest that there are places that
look and feel very similar to Sleepy Hollow for this movie. Many scenes have
color so little that almost could also be in black and white, which makes
the few splashes of color (flames, symbols of witchcraft, and, of course,
blood) much more surprising. One understands how the film won an Oscar for art direction
.
The plot, which as you know probably varies drastically from Washington Irving
the original story, is diabolically complex and closer to a
mystery / suspense that terror as such. It reminded me of fiction
Avram Davidson noted fantasist with a penchant for complex mystery plot.
Anyway, back to the film. With the exception of the scenes were rushed alluded earlier,
Burton deals with the plot (perhaps the most complex in any of his films)
with exceptional grace, falling in the telling visual details along the way
to return to unexpected places later. I especially liked the underlying theme
about science versus superstition, and note that while many details of
this particular case are beyond the scope of science, science is still

the character and status of the fund were quite different from Irving's
version, Depp, Burton and screenwriters Kevin Yagher and Andrew Kevin Walker
remain faithful to the spirit of the original Ichabod Crane.
Could almost be a Buster Keaton kind of character, a clumsy wimp who achieved great feats of
Derringer-do by the end of the film, and for me
Depp's image recalls " Sherlock, Jr. ", in which Keaton dreams
which is the world's largest detective. Although not Irving wrote sequels of "Sleepy Hollow
" I'd love to see more of this film version of Ichabod Crane, while
the film looks great and has an excellent screenplay, is that Depp and Crane put < br> along the top.
I thoroughly enjoyed this collaboration between Tim Burton,
Andrew Kevin Walker and Washington Irving. The combination of incredible talent such as Mr
Burton and Mr Walker was quite proper recipe for recreating the
Irving Classic. May I read other reviews about this movie and I think
is very disturbing that most people either to compare Star Wars: Phantom
Threat or complain that is too far from the original
history.
To these people I have a few comments. First, connections and only
comparisons are Star Wars actor Ian McDiarmid and actor / Stuntman
Ray Park. Beyond that there is nothing in this film that comes remotely close to
a comparison with Star Wars. In my opinion this film is better than the box office
Behemoth. ***** If you had spent as much time in his screenplay for
***, might have been as intriguing as
Sleepy Hollow. Then, for those who were not satisfied with the film
departure from the classic Irving, but I have one piece of advice: read the story
again. Washington Irving was masterful in creating scenes and the establishment
atmosphere, but The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a 20 page review of the
small village and loves of Ichabod Crane (women, food, writings and other countries )
The Horseman, but mentions a handful of times, do not appear until the
last two pages, and then was alluded to the idea that Brom Bones was
fault for the concealment, to scare the poor hero Ichabod.
There have been other writings and interpretations of the Sleepy Hollow
history that focus more on how the spectral Headless Horseman.
I believe that this movie was done in the spirit of these and other works is one of
best. It brings to life the establishment of this small valley and
attempts to recreate the feeling that Washington Irving describes best in its history.
was suggested that Sleepy Hollow was a dream and as a magical place,
thus the name "Sleepy Hollow". In this small valley upstate
the strangest things happen just ghosts and goblins roam freely if only in the minds of the people
. Tim Burton manages to capture the feeling and allowing
the public feel as if there plus a theater, but another
world.
Andrew Kevin Walker's workup and translation of history also makes for a
bind the film. Allowing changes for the movie adaptation was a
sign of genius. Moving the hero and introducing him to Sleepy Hollow
environment together with the public, enhancing the experience. Giving a clear
fund for the Horseman, which is only briefly in the original
history, was also an improvement for the film in history. Let's face it, if they
had made a movie of 105 minutes that tried to reproduce the original short story
there would have been filled with theatres across "dream" patron.
was also superb shake hands with Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci
for fabulous performances. As for the rest of the cast? Fantastic.
To see all these wonderful actors in secondary roles was a pleasure. Starting
with Christopher Lee as the chief judge in New York, Jeffrey Jones, Michael
Gough, Ian McDiarmid, Michael Gambon, Miranda Richardson, and even
Casper Van Dien all
did excellent work.
Although the story was lower in those moments, few y. The
edition in the beginning was a little chopped but ran more smoothly after the
20-30 minutes. An excellent adaptation of a great story.
This is definitely a movie that Burton was born to do.
