In a futuristic world, a strict regime has eliminated war by suppressing emotions: books, art and music are strictly forbidden and feeling is a crime punishable by death. Cleric John Preston (Bale) is a top ranking government agent responsible for destroying those who resist the rules. Whe he misses a dose of Prozium, a mind-altering drug that hinders emotion, Preston, who has been trained to enforce the strict laws of the new regime, suddenly becomes the only person capable of overthrowing it.

I watched this movie late one night in one of the Encore channels.
He stayed up past my bedtime I did. Then he recorded the next time was in
. Having regard, twice more, then, and then bought the DVD
and saw that a couple if not three times as much. First,
rarely see a film twice less than enough time has passed that I have forgotten how
ends. Too many films and there are not enough
time. However, this film deserves time. I loved the fight scenes, beings
the premise of the film, acting beings (and seeing Christian Bale
Shirtless). Emily Watson is an incredible actress. It's rare these days to see
an action / science fiction with real plot and dialogue. How do I care about a film
if you do not care about the characters? Anyway, watch it. He provided
movie about 5 guys and we all liked. A boy is in the
Martial Arts and he thought the fight scenes were impressive (my word - his word
/ s is / are "the fight scenes were well choreographed").
moral of this story is: see it, you will not be disappointed. Oh, and I
said that "surprisingly good" because I had never heard of the film and is hoping some
crap B movie - what can I say, I could not sleep.
I think this movie was a good movie, and I also believe that most critics
not justified in its reasoning for panning. Almost looks like a conspiracy
. Anyway, the story is interesting, is to establish some sort of reality
where we have this "gun kata", and stuck with it. The "gun kata
" never became a deus ex machina, which only led to the
action sequences, while staying away from the plot, which has some interesting twists
doubtless most of the matrix. I think Christian Bale was
the character of a sort of clone of Keanu Reeves in Matrix,
but he is clearly a better player, and his rank was really challenged. The
other characters were much less "wood" and as comic characters that
evil in the matrix, which ironically made more humane,
almost too human for an action film, and that is probably why
critics were so hard on him. The parent (at least the first)
not take too seriously, but he did ... and I think
rise to the challenge as much as any action film set in the distant future
some bending to reality. I really liked, and would have liked
see it in the theater, however, a large income if you liked the
first matrix, Kill Bill, or any other film that combines action with choreography and weaves a
interesting history of reality. My suggestion
could have been more extreme antagonists, but then, perhaps this movie
helps me to accept more human-like villains in action movies. Anyway
give it a try!
