Sonny Koufax is 32 years old. He's a law school graduate. He's got a nice apartment in Manhattan. There's just one problem. He does nothing, except sit on his butt and live off an investment that was the result of a meager lawsuit he won a year ago. But after his fed up girlfriend leaves him, he comes up with the ingenious idea to adopt a five year old boy to showcase his newfound maturity. But things don't go as planned, and Sonny finds himself the unlikely foster father that will change his perspective on just looking out for himself.

Big Daddy-Sonny Koufax (Adam Sandler) is the paragon of
irresponsibility -
has no work, no manners, and no clue. Although Sonny has somehow managed
to get a girlfriend, she is tired of his aimless ways, and gives her an ultimatum
- do something with your life or I'm leaving. Fate steps
with a ready-made 'solution': Sonny increase the child who was abandoned in front of

this movie has no credibility. But we are talking about
Adam Sandler, the man who gave us brainteasers such as Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison
. Sandler's frat-boy humor - and child, scatalogical -
has
however, drew a huge following as evidenced by the enormous Waterboy
box office, (a film that myself and will surely be enjoyed for the pillory).
one thing I hoped for this movie - a good laugh. And it is delivered. The mandatory
tearjerker scenes painful, but fortunately few and far between
. If you're in the mood for some humor in the light-cheap Tuesday
give this film a chance.
Somehow 'Big Daddy' has a certain charm despite persuasion
Adam Sandler's beloved loser allegedly showing a worrying online
aggressive behavior, corruption and child home invasion, and
the tendency of the movie to dabble in outrageously manipulative sentimentality,
especially towards the end. What I gained a certain extent, regardless of
Steve Buscemi scene stealing turn as a homeless man, is how the
film effortlessly breezes through the scenes with comedy
a lack of neediness that is very refreshing in a strange way. This is the first decent movie
Dennis Dugan, whose apparent predilection for the big knockers
does not hurt the entire film.
