I've seen this movie tonight at a preview screening in Southampton
knowing only 3 things: It was about weddings, all the scripts are
improvised, and it contains one of my most hated: Jimmy Carr .
Fortunately, however, I was pleasantly surprised. The film contained the
cream of the crop of British comedy - agents spaced, The Office,
Peep Show, Green Wing etc etc, and was conveniently hilarious. It follows three
couples who are elected to compete for the title of 'most original wedding
' Confetti magazine. The winner gets a half a million pounds
home. Martin Freeman and Jessica Stevenson to make the most beautiful and most realistic
partner in the film, and his wedding contains most colorful characters
.. Jessica in particular the character of the sister of Sam, a
dancer who tries to take over the wedding of the choreography (its theme is
old MGM musicals) to the couple obvious discomfort. It is strange
see the pairing of Peep show Jez and Sophie in the movie, yi
not know if I can shrug off the feeling that Mark would get
jealousy ... the feeling passed. Both were brilliant game
that the couple had chosen a naturist wedding. The green wing Stephen
Man Mangan and Meredith MacNeill Woman's strokes were also hilarious as
partner with a tennis theme wedding - along with a series of marital
. The show-stealers in the film but had to be the
wedding planners. Both gave performances and mesmerising
were absolutely fabulous. The film was apparently improvised dialogue, and shows the
realistic reactions of the characters, especially these two.
They alone were worth going to see the film. Even if the rest
had been terrible. That was not.
And finally ... the real test of the greatness of the film ... I really hate to
not Jimmy Carr. Wonderful. And also some kind of miracle
...
The film is not yet, but I recommend to anyone that gives you the wonderful
extravagant British comedies of recent years to take seriously this
go when one is released. It's worth it.
