"White Squall" is the true story of a ship school called the "Albatross." The school is run by the captain, Christopher "Skipper" Sheldon (Jeff Bridges) and his wife, Dr. Alice Sheldon (Caroline Goodall). In the of 1960, the couple took aboard eight teeanage boys from around the country for eight months of learning how to sail, be a crew, and respect one another. the crew goes through hardtimes and more laid-back times, but they must come together when a freak storm gets them in trouble in the middle of the ocean.

With masterpieces such as Alien, Blade Runner and underestimated, but superb,
1492: Conquest of Paradise, I am a big fan of Ridley Scott. White Squallido
is something like a letdown in comparison, but it certainly deserves more
a measly $ 10 million in gross U.S. at the box office. Predictably
Scott, a film that has its luxury brand and product quality
impressive picture. The sequences at sea some of the most spectacular ever filmed as
Scott revels in the rolling waves and lurching ship,
convey the ferociousness at sea, even in calm conditions quite like no other film
No. I can remember. The story, however, is less successful and is essentially (and
not exceptionally original film by Scott) a Dead Poets' Society at sea, as a
Motley crew of young boys, played by a
convincingly established and talented young people, do a lot of growing during the voyage
under the watchful eye of an Ahab-esque, but eventually sympathetic Jeff Bridges. The final scene
definitely more resembles that of Dead Poet's Society. (Captain.
My Captain). However the film as a whole never bored and makes for compulsive
: sometimes, especially the magnificent storm of the title,
that is both moving and technical tour de force.
White Squallido

A group of boys joins a ship sailing to finish his last year of High school
aboard the Albatross. They must learn to work together and
act as a team, which at first, is not as easy as it may seem. With the passage of time
that actually become a group and get very close.

This plot may not be original, and could be stereotyped cliché.
However, as the story develops, there is still too fun to watch and Jeff Bridges as the
navigator bold, tough but fair, trying to make men of a different kind of
boys, each for them to tackle their own problems,
keeps you interested. Although

(for some people as well) spectacular, me and my girlfriend
enjoyed this movie. I can imagine some people who have difficulty with the dose of
emotion in this picture. It does not bother me, I like when
is well supplied and not too cliché, except perhaps the final scene, in my eyes
White Squallido to match this.

I think this is a pleasant film, when you're just lying back on the sofa
relax and let flow over you. Not difficult history, but has great
shots and acting quite well and most of the characters are reasonably
developed.
