Century 21 variant of the ancient battle of the sexes-subject, of course
inoculated with a special gimmick to put the material over
today's seen-it-all audiences. Mel Gibson plays a womanizing ad exec
in Chicago, which - through electrocution! -- Suddenly can read the minds of all women
. At first, he uses this new gift for personal benefit, but soon
is increasingly caring and sensitive man who
learns to listen before he speaks. From fast but weak,
fatuous comic fantasy of male and female relations in modern times.
Not purport to be speaking the truth about the sexes, but in the meantime is dropped off much
snappy lines and superficial answers. Most women performers
aim to be hammy and irritating, and almost everyone in the cast overacts

This is fairly typical of the romantic comedy, but with an interesting twist
, the main character has the ability to hear women's thoughts. The
important is that for this to work, the character who was placed in a
lot of interesting comical situations, where you can laugh at him, without
it is too flout women thoughts, or too far-to enjoy. This
succeeds quite well, however how the character gains and loses the ability
have been handled something wrong. The mood is good, and there's a lot
of the same, throughout the entire run time.
The characters were credible, and the main character eventually became
likable. The plot was good, and those who act likewise. The only thing that carries the film
down, is improper performance of the gain / loss of the ability
to hear the thoughts of women, and sugar-sweet ending, which was too
predictable and boring plain, as anyone who believes one of the
hundreds (perhaps thousands) of romantic comedies out there. Without
new material brought to the table, besides the interesting and original concept
of being a man able to hear what women are thinking.
