The movie begins in the small town of Elerslie, Scotland. William lives with his father, who is not named in the film, and his older brother Malcolm. William's father and older brother are called to a meeting a few miles from their home where they find the entire nobility of Scotland hanging. Malcolm and his father then go to a battle between the British and their clan, both die tragically. At the funeral William meets his uncle Argyle who fought in the battle with Malcolm and his father. He takes him away to live with him. The scene then cuts to an adult William on his horse. William later runs into a girl he knew before he went to live with Argyle, her name, Murron, we discover that Lords have the right to sleep with brides on their wedding night, so William marries Murron in secret. Murron is the assaulted by a British guard, the guard is killed by William, a fight ensues, and eventually Murron is killed by the lord. This enrages Wallace who then build himself a fine army entering city's and killing all Englishman within. Wallace prepares to move on to Sterling where he prepared for his greatest battle yet, in the forest he realises that he must find a way to beat the heavy cavalry from the ground, he decided to create spears twice as long as men. These were used in the battle to kill the entire heavy cavalry raised at the last minute to kill the on coming horses. Eventually Wallace reaches York, the most important military city he gains control. Williams final battle at Falkirk ends in his betrayal by two nobles, whom he later kills. William is betrayed by the leper father of Robert the Bruce, is captured and refuses to bow down as a loyal subject of the king Edward I, Longshanks. Therefore, instead of mere beheading William Wallace is subject to being Hung, hung within an inch of death. Drawn, being stretched by his ankles and wrists and then having his insides shown to him before he died. Then Quartered, he was beheaded and his head was put on the London Bridge his body was torn into for pieces one sent to each corner of Britain as a warning to the citizens. On my list of the greatest movies of all time, Braveheart ranks as the number
3.
is by far one of the most epic stories ever told. Mel Gibson
deserves full credit and received much more. His portrait of William Wallace, one of the warriors
Scotlands most powerful, was ground. The only part that
It lacks the romantic affair of Princess Elizabeth and Wallace. This
historically never happened. This film also has other historical errors
but who cares!
The Battle of Stirling has to be the second piece more graphic scenes
never shot next to Omaha Beach in Saving Private Ryan. I love the part where the Commander
English gives the order to charge and believes that this poses
Wallace and his broadsword in the air and began to shout. It instructs the field
with the Scots and I let you see the movie to see what happens next
.
Wallace's emotional speech at the battle of Stirling is still a source of inspiration
and I think that the real William Wallace was proud of the way Mel Gibson portrayed him
.
My hat goes to Mel Gibson. I hope that makes a few more movies like this
.

Located in the late 13 century, 'Braveheart' is the story of one of Scotland
greatest national heroes Sir William Wallace.
leader of the Scottish resistance forces during the early years of long,
ultimately successful fight to liberate Scotland from English rule ... Basically
charismatic in the title role, Gibson plays the heroic figure
and emerges as a hero with wit and romantic soul,
determined to rid his country of their oppressors ... English
Wallace revolution was launched, with great obstacles of their countrymen
... Many noble Scottish only reluctantly supported as
most of them were more concerned with wealth and titles that
freedom of the country ... In fact, the Scots are leaders in favour of
revolt-or not-depending on English bribes ... Wallace, by comparison,
is a man of honor, incorruptible and righteous ... It was Knight and
proclaimed 'guardian and protector of high Scotland', but as much as he rails against the noble
Scots, submitted to Edward I, King of England
, was caught in state shock and to discover the betrayal of
the main contender for the throne Scot-Robert, Earl Bruce-who confided to
, 'People would you, if you only lead them
& # 39;. Sophie Marceau is exquisite as the bereaved Princess Elizabeth
de France that ends up falling in love with Wallace, warning him of
several traps ...
Catherine McCormack is a stunning beauty that ignites Wallace's
revolution ...
Patrick McGoohan is chilling, brutal, cruel and ruthless as the
Edward I, known by the nickname "Longshanks'. This simply remains King
the incarnation of evil ...
Although Angus McFadyen moves as a noble
torn between his conscience and political aspiration, and Brendan Gleeson brings
strength and humor to his role as the robust Hamish, David O ' Hara is very effective as the Irish
crazy that provides much of the film Comic Relief even
most stretched moments ...
Mel Gibson has reason to be proud of 'Braveheart'. This is a movement
image that dares to be excessive ... Gibson presents the passion
spaciously most impressive battles (even in stages for films), even
too, and it is his passion and excess that make the motion
big picture ... The horror and futility of mass melee combat
are exciting and not repulsive ... It's epic film-making at its glorious best
...
Gibson's' Braveheart 'focuses on the human side of Wallace, a character
so huge, so intelligent and so passionate, exploring
the definitions of honor and nobility, pushing forward
hero in their struggle against injustice and oppression ...
There is a large photo of the beautiful mountains of Scotland covered in fog
beautiful music with bagpipe ... James Horner's beautiful score,
calls on memories of his work for 'Titanic'.
