Within the first ten minutes something to me about the Trauma, is not your average thriller
\ horror, not so anyway in Hollywood.
There is something different about it, you can see in the film,
direction and writing, it is Asia that is more Hollywood and
would you like to be forgiven for thinking that came from the latest spate of Asia
Directors making Hollywood films, but this is not the case.It 's actually
directed by Marc Evans, who also heads My Little Eye, and makes excellent
.

The film started in a very strong stand with an excellent, and by all accounts well
, writing, and the rest of the team have
only maintains the quality throughout. The visuals are very well prepared
with some exciting and camera techniques are used as part of
stories with scenarios that rely on nothing but the visual
to explain or confuse, to the audience. Common items and links are
throughout history, with small clues, references and circular
travel.

There is a very urban and modern feel to the film, and the strong
film and provide a natural lighting, real feel to the world
around the main character that Ben is played incredibly by misuse
Colin Firth. His performance is unnerving, confusing and totally credible
. You are prepared for this character as he begins to try to
piece their lives together with you at your side at every turn. Firth is
almost every scene and commands the screen without overpowering.
His co-star Mena Suvari do a good job standing with him, offering
support and their faith in him, no doubt, also comes across as natural
but naive character. Once again, very credible.

These are some of the details of the film, embezzlement and
often confusing messages from other characters and visual
themselves that make this film so intriguing. Any time you're
Ben thrown in the minds and do things to discover like him and
see through their eyes, true or not, you can see how things he does.

Overall I liked this movie. Everything about the joint
to the camera reminds me of the techniques of a good horror movie in Asia,
Hollywood has found something really difficult to reproduce.
Manages to unnerve and confused everything, and although some things may not be so surprising
, others are. However, you never really know the answer, and I love
why. The film made me think, and keep thinking.

The DVD offers little in the way of extras, although I was surprised to see more
an audio track description. This is where someone
describes what is happening in the movie for those who are visually
affected. It is a terrible, monotonous track and I would have thought
more attention would have been put into trying to find someone who could give depth and tone
these descriptions, through which the spirit of the < br> scene. But I do not really need to see it.

There is a featurette that covers a large part of the movie without giving away too
, and provides a valuable overview with a lot of
Firth debate itself. He says something that really sums up what this film
, Asia and the film is. The art of
not show anything.

I like a story of ghosts as long as you do not see too much of the Spirit,
films and really scare me are those who do not give the game away
. I tend to think that as soon as a monster coming around the corner I
'Oh, thank God is just a monster, was something much worse in
mind ". As soon as a ghost is chasing you down the aisle you're really in
Scooby Doo.

I will not lose the audio commentary. It has the Director of
talk about the history and some of the sets and themes throughout the movie,
but mainly focuses on the story itself and fill around them, noting
connections and themes that he goes.
Not provide a lot more to the story and it is interesting to see to see the film a second time
. In fact I would give it a month or so and
see the film again with all this knowledge, just to see how it feels a
third time, knowingly. Evans gives a lot of winking references to other films
that so clearly influenced this film, for example
Honogurai mizu no Soko Kara (Dark Water) and are not now.

I totally recommend the film, and not just because it's Richard Smith
Scots, but because it is a very strong history, writing and
proceedings. The casting is excellent, visual, cinematography, lighting techniques
and all is done with a slight quirkiness.
It's very reflective of a good psychological horror Asia, and stressed that
of the stack of Hollywood.
Trauma is one of those movies that relies on joint responses
audiences depending on their expectations: it seems to polarize people
in love / hate categories. While there is a great film, has the Trauma
courage to raise a story that is more involved with the interior
aspects of a mind altered by events physical. We are asked to observe
the world through the eyes of a battered brain
happens to belong to a man with a tattered past. If the stories are linear preferred
then this is not a film to recommend. For those viewers willing to crawl
malfunction within the mind, this movie is mesmerizing and filled with
rewarding moments.

Ben (Colin Firth) is at the opening of flashbacks driving a car in
night with his wife Elisa (Naomie Harris). There is a car accident and Ben
awakens from a coma in a hospital, convinced that Elisa is dead. The
wanders the hospital, brought to the morgue where the caregiver
(Cornelius Booth) increases the mystery of the place. Ben learns
the TV room that a famous singer Lauren Parris (Alison David), for whom
Elisa has been a dancer, has been murdered. His mind and disintegrates
everything that follows is a mixture of excitement mixed with pieces of exquisitely
reality that defines how the post-Traumatic stress syndrome
can be driven to psychosis if unrecognized and treated.

Ben leaves hospital (or?) and continues his art career in a large building in
reconstruction (a building that has been a
hospital ....), engaged friendship by her partner Roland (Sean Harris) and his
owner of Charlotte (Mena Suvari). More flashbacks (mostly
childhood memories), as well as talks by Ben things with a "psychiatrist" (
whose face was never seen ...) and during episodes with channeler Petra (Brenda
Fricker) was informed that Elisa is not dead. Ben becomes a suspect in the murder of
Lauren Parris and chasing after his trial
ultimately leads to a series of disasters, a number of metaphors and
illusions of all those who are Ben sitting in the hospital, where
began.

Did any of this story really happen, or is the manufacture of a Traumatized mind
the verge of breakdown? That is left for the viewer to decide
. Although plagued by some static moments and a lot of conversation
buried in the background music and sounds, director Marc Evans
with writer Richard Smith lead us on a journey of suspense, made all the more
some odd camera work and special
tremendously inventive settings. It is not a film for everyone, but for those who are willing to enter into
Traumatic stress syndrome of the mind, this case study is
rewarding. Grady Harp
