No Country for the elderly is like a mixture of two exceptional creative talents -
the Coen brothers, Joel and Ethan Coen, and author Cormac McCarthy
(recent winner of the Pulitzer by the roadside, their masterpiece) a
might imagine, since converge in a story that would be in the hands lessor
only a movie B. The story concerns an average Joe
out hunting one day in Texas who comes across a pile of corpses, heroin, and a satchel with
2 million in cash. The takes it, but without knowing that a
true incarnation of a psychopath (Javier Bardem) is in its path, and as he evades
he is becoming increasingly clear that fatalism is in store
, Degraded as a sheriff (Tommy Lee Jones) is also on track with
perpetulally sad looking in the eyes of his stolen conduct.

More than this, it is also a good game as a morale could ask
because plays and tools and makes
very serious questions about what is moral, or what is not, or what is so ambiguous that it all depends on the
to throw a coin or a chance ride out of town. There is a
some interpretations of Anton Bardem character that might be taken,
but one thing is certain, it is less a symbol than a real presence,
"ghost" as Jones calls for the sheriff you can come around
drop of a pin, usually in the dark, and the largest strike fear (or confusion
if you are an employee) in the hearts of men and women. Never look
throw a coin in the same way again. Or a pistol air. Or fixing
a gunshot wound in the leg. Or a hunt in a motel. Or even the aftermath of a car accident.

But at the same time is the time of pure cinema, recalling Hitchcock and Welles
Leone and Touch of Evil and the best of black and
Westerns. There are so many exceptional photos and lighting, both
depth to the perception of the characters through the mis-en-scene, so
lot of tension, that through this that everything depends on the actors to make
or break the near perfection that is the source McCarthy. Bardem embodies
Anton as no other could-you can not see in their eyes, often cold steel
horrifically and professional (for the professional who can tell), which
occasional tear and, obviously, is worthy of an Oscar. And
Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones are also fantastic; Brolin we see often in the middle of a scene
action, a time of "save your life" is changed, and finally we can see
an actor of his caliber if not completely
in a role that is not required ever totally "emotive". Jones, in
On the other hand, gives a compassionate turn into a movie that is about the struggles of
desperate men in a land without law and order. He is ido
across much of what comes out completely in his voice and eyes,
sad but slowing, and reaches a level of connection with nature that makes
see the fugitive as a simpleton TV.
Kelly McDonald, who plays Lleland wife, also is excellent when prompted,
especially in a crucial stage later in the film.

It's gut wrenching, sad, violent, super-tense (I Clench many
knuckle during some scenes), surprisingly funny in a darkly comic
manner not seen by the Coens in many years, and formed artistically
a heartbeat that is meditative (see the opening moments with the Jones
voice-over), simple, and doomed to failure. It is beautiful and terribly tragic,
McCarthy for the fans who finally strikes on what is most true to his material -
even if you have not read the book itself the highway will give an indication of the state
morale and atmosphere at hand-and at this time
I can not think of any other film that would be the best selection of the year -
perhaps one of the best movies I've ever seen.
Days after launch, I'm still not obsessed by country for the elderly. Only one thing
as effectively and without concessions on this matter, which
mere words only begin to read the surface of
excellence in cinema screen.

At its simplest, the film is a game of cat and mouse. The mouse
here is Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin), a hunter who stumbles into two
million in cash after a drug ido versus evil, and must
think nothing of it. Try to cover their tracks, but ends up letting the
group seeking money, find out their identity. The cat is
Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem), a hit-man hired to find Moss and the money.
But Chigurh is unconventional at best, also becomes borderline mentally
for any reason. And another man, a law that man this time, Sheriff Bell
(Tommy Lee Jones) is on the trail of two men as they crossed
around Texas.

until its dénouement, the film is simply brilliant. And tense
exciting, blowing across most of its two-hour running time
with ease. Even during times of slowdown, the film stays on the right track and
never feels he has found his way. Undertakes, even when
seems that nothing is happening. The Coen Brothers actually developed
what appears at first glance to be a masterpiece, even if it is his first trip to
something that is not indelible and inarguably
its own. Even without reading Cormac McCarthy's novel, I know that the
Coens have done justice, even with its bitterly
dark and twisted sense of humor scattered throughout the film.

But all this comes to a standstill as the film concludes. The last
twenty minutes feel like hours as the movie wraps itself, and
that almost feels like these scenes belong to another movie entirely (one
that the borders are monotonous and pretentious). I realize now that
McCarthy, probably the novel ends the same way, but not
help provide closure to the fact that the film is to break-neck pace right
until that happens. Its brightness is shattered by what appears to be a series of events
tattered thrown together to provide closure for all
of the characters, living or dead, and for your audience.
Speaks volumes for the film's title, but simply do not feel the satisfaction
compared with the rest of what we saw. Even with its enigmatic devices
to play, I still can not agree with how the film ends. Not
plague, and somehow can be a much stronger ending
time in rolls. But as it stands now, just feels weak.

What is a surprise, and it seems that only appear as the film
concludes, is the music. It is not so obvious at first, but the
majority of the film is shown with acoustic sounds only
characters and not make background music to talk about. This element is
brilliantly used, as this helps strengthen all situations and makes the film
frankly frightening in some cases. Not only helps make the film really
join, and only helps establish the fast pace
even more so. It is certainly a surprise, and it probably will help the
lasting impact of the film is even stronger.

The lush visuals and bloodsoaked also help define the film. Despite
the film takes place mostly in desert areas, or the desert,
the camera achieves just the right essential to capture what the
writing and is acting transport. The isolation and terror
almost become characters through these visual representations, and we are confident that
recognized as the award season rolls in

of the film is also acting very well done. Brolin anchors the film and
even when there is more that the public reacts to
their attempts to save his life, he manages to offer the best performance of his career. The
breathes life into Moss, and really brings a sense of pathos to the character
. We feel for him and his greedy mistake, and as he develops
in a man willing to go without a fight, he only manages to
the bet itself countlessly. Jones, as the right man glued to the
margin each case, also does very well by itself. Most of his work is simply
delivery of dialogue, but
is delivered in such a fashion that you feel like you're talking to
bigger picture of things, and not only himself. I would have liked a little more
the development of their character, but what little
helps your performance tremendously.

shifts Support Woody Harrelson and Kelly Macdonald is also
well, but are overshadowed by the main cast by both Brolin and Jones.

And yet more than one cloud is Bardem as the ruthless Chigurh. The
absolutely nails this character to his bones. If someone is
simply playing with the idea of seeing the film, should
specifically for Bardem. His performance is the calculation and petrifying
fraught with silence. When it chooses to speak, his words sound like
they are being given by the essence of evil. This is a man with a plan,
but is one that belongs only to him. Their presence is enigmatic
developed over the movie, and never once does it feel especially
appropriate to understand this threat comes from. Seeing him in
screen is a jolt to the heart, and becomes one of the best performances
of the decade. Her hair terrible only helps make his
character who most fear and formidable.

No Country for the elderly is one of the best pictures of the year, even if
is defective. Its brightness and lasting impact with the license that haunted.

8.5/10.
