In this modern day Romeo and Juliet, kung fu action star Jet Li plays Romeo to hip-hop singer, Aaliyah Haughton's Juliet. Li is an ex-cop investigating the murder of his brother, who had ties with the Chinese mafia in America. Aaliyah plays the daughter of the American mob boss. Neither side approves of their romance, so, obviously, kung fu action ensues, with a soundtrack by Aaliyah.

I was surprised I enjoyed much of this from martial arts films are
well, but nothing to really get often. Jet Li plays the only likable character in this
Asians versus blacks gang history.
Some of the stunts were enormous. Some were so over-the-top, so unbelievable that
were fun. The film certainly is not one that is
taken seriously. The
wild scenes of action, rather history and involvement of colors and pleasant
interesting banda sonora make this film a cut above the normal
martial arts fare. The excellent surround sound and strong
a good image for a DVD.
Good for this movie was when Aaliyah at the scene. The rest is not
and senseless violence on gangs trying to do to others. Jet Li
was okay, but I do not think it is a good actor, but 'sa very
starring a prolific in more than 60 films. Although this was his acting debut
, I think Aaliyah goods brought to the table. It was just as big
Trish. The game between Trish and Han (Jet Li) as an accidental
taxi driver was invaluable, and how it contrasted
each other on the screen with young Trish really something of a protective role they have added
really interesting plot twist to the story.
Executive producer Joel Silver had a lot of original ideas on movie making, and
I would say that it is one of them. I do not go for too
violence, but the film is entertaining and original.
