The standard story of Robin Hood: Evil Prince John is oppressing the people while good King Richard is away on the Crusades. Robin steals from the tax collectors, wins an archery contest, defeats the Sheriff, and rescues Maid Marian. In this version, however, Mel Brooks adds his own personal touch, parodying traditional adventure films, romance films, and the whole idea of men running around the woods in tights.

Like many a child born in the 1980's, I grew up in the Mel Brooks movie
that are not necessarily the 'rational'
as Blazing Saddles and World History, Part 1 ( I have seen, of course, although not as often as
now), but it means for the "entire family",
Spaceballs, and this movie. I knew at the time I was not seeing large
art, but a campy, ridiculous, but always laugh-worthy assume
Robin Hood and / or adventure films. However, calling it a family film in quotation marks
means that a) adults can really enjoy as much as children, if not more
because little in-jokes and silly vulgarity, and b) once a child
sees it, when it looks like I have a couple of times, is as follows
cool, but some things do not quite understand the first time.
It is a comedy that is not only full of jokes in
Robin Hood movies and other films (The Godfather of course, and little is mentioned for
other films of modern times), but the Brooks
's own references as well as films, which is a filmmaker who is not above poking fun at
even his own style.
basic story of Robin Hood (Cary Elwes in one of his best laps) returns home from the Crusades
to see things are threatened with King Richard
ido, and so on will regain their land and, of course, steal
the rich to feed the poor. Along the way it meets Achoo (Dave Chappelle),
butts heads with Prince John (Richard Lewis) and the sheriff, and of course
still pines for the love of Maid Marian. This, of course, is the usual clothing
Brooks to run on the comedy scenes, and
although sometimes a joke may not work or may become a rancid
: repeat, so Much of what sticks is hard not to chuckle.
It also helps that a couple of bits, are among the best in all
Brooksfilm, as the Godfather bit (Dom DeLouise his very best),
Brooks's own cameo as the Rabbbi, Lewis and Chappelle's acting turns
and an endless pile of citable lines and a couple of tongue-in-cheek
songs. Some of it is obvious, yes, some of them only have the right to
pages Blazing Saddles, insurance, but is it a good time for the right
crowd? Ultimately-and for parents who grew up in the 70 Brooks work,
is a fantastic way to introduce the little ones through their work
this (even suggestive sex jokes and these are not R-rated ,
All in good fun).
This is a very fun movie Mel Brooks and probably stands as his last great comic
hurrah.Although not to the level of his masterpiece "HIGH
anxiety" is undoubtedly a better and more Robin Hood really exciting adventure
than soporific departure of Kevin Costner.It It is worth noting that
Parodi Robin Brooks had before in the short-term U.S. television series "The
when things were rotten." This is much better and although Cary Elwes
results as Robin Hood in the style of Errol Flynn.Look too big for
Matthew Porretta, former star of the syndicated show excellent "new adventures of Robin Hood
"like Scarlett O'Hara. Ultimately, a good fun
film.
