"MI2" off to a good start, delays in the middle with weak
history and development of character, and becomes a confused mess
free action in the final. With big budget, big
names, and John Woo goes for it, "MI2"
offers solid entertainment, but falls short of expectations. The film
not to make the emotional connection between the public and
characters and apparently tries to compensate with an overdose
action. The result is a numbing experience and a
yawn ending provoking as good triumphs over evil.
Wow. I have seen many bad movies and a lot of bad sequels, but it
was just incredibly bad. Even I knew it was possible to
sinks that low. And it was not even bad in a fun way, but simply a bad
extremely painful. You do not even know why I have seen until the end.
The story is nothing but a series of cliches. The bad guys have stolen
a killer virus and intend to let loose to make a fortune selling
the antidote. Very predictable, eh? The characters can not be
more than two dimensions if they were in a game of Nintendo. Being a tomboy,
I absolutely hate it when women in movies have no personality and was just added
like love. Nyah, chicken in MI2,
is a perfect example. She was the only woman in the whole film and
its sole purpose is to be sexy (as shown by several futile subtly
vaccine business). Sure, the movie wants you to think she could put
ass if she wanted to make it a professional thief, but is not very convincing in
that. In the end, while Tom Cruise is dedicated to a
unrealistic battle sequence on a beach, walks around aimlessly,
considering throwing herself off a cliff (which would have been a
relief).
I was going to talk about the very futile pursuit of cars
sequence between the hero and chicken, which
demolish their cars for no reason whatsoever, but I really do not know what to say about it.
The only good thing about this movie is that it was so boring that I
prefers doing homework that had been postponing ages to see the dumb
motorcycle pursued.
