Christian, a young wannabe Bohemian poet living in 1899 Paris, defies his father by joining the colorfully diverse clique inhabiting the dark, fantastical underworld of Paris' now legendary Moulin Rouge. In this seedy but glamorous haven of sex, drugs and newly-discovered electricity, the poet-innocent finds himself plunged into a passionate but ultimately tragic love affair with Satine, the club's highest paid star and the city's most famous courtesan. Their romance is played out against the infamous club - a meeting place of high life and low, where slumming aristocrats and the fashionably rich mingled with workers, artists, Bohemians, actresses and courtesans.

This is a story about life. And about the artists who congregated in Paris
in 1900, living a bohemian life and the world
giving the fruits of their work, their art, for those who bleed and die happy. But mainly
this is a love story. From a young man named Christian,
penniless writer and a singer named Satine, who met for a moment
and taste the nectar of the gods. `Moulin Rouge ', written and directed by Baz Luhrmann
, takes you into a world that is bright and shiny, fast and
flashy and filled with all the things that make life worth living . It
a world of fantasy and color song, increasing the hearts and aspirations - but also
of reality on which the illusion that everything is built. And
effects that actually Christian and Satine, whose love has been
prohibited by the same reality that seek to dispel by impaling with
artistic endeavors that give life.
If Disney has commissioned a film to be written by Shakespeare, directed by
Fellini and produced by Spielberg, this would be the same. It is a dizzying,
turns explosion of lights, colors, music, drama and comedy that assails the senses and that
held spellbound from start to finish. Like the
bohemians who portrays, Luhrmann convention and instead leaves behind
dips in its own inspired and very imaginative way to tell his story.
The cinematography (by Donald McAlpine) and art direction (Ann-Marie Beauchamp and
Ian Gracie) are bright, as well as the production design
(by Catherine Martin) and the sets (by Brigitte Broch). One of the many inspired touches
Luhrmann used here is the use of different speeds of film
throughout, which, when combined with the superlative, quick cut editing
(
by Jill Bilcock ), Makes transportation and surreal.
Ewan McGregor becomes a performance as a Christian, the young
who arrives in Paris with nothing but spirit and a head full of ideas and ideals
. Where differences artistic leaves Zidler (Jim Broadbent),
the owner of Moulin Rouge, without a writer for a new show,
'Spectacular, Spectacular,' Christian steps in. And it does McGregor, who < br> shines in the piece. And the boy can sing! He may not have the
greater voice in the world, but it's a good step 'voice,' and most importantly,
can sell a song, as evidenced by the scene in that gets across
Elton John's Song "Tu". McGregor has a charismatic screen presence, and in this
role that really gives you the opportunity to demonstrate his versatility as an actor
. As
Satine, Nicole Kidman is spicy and sensual, bringing its
character vividly to life, this woman who makes life of every man's fantasy
as she sings and sashays her way through this world of
Moulin Rouge. At its heart, which yearns to be a serious actress, and if this new
show is a success, it can only give his opportunity. But first, the spectacle
needs someone to finance the production of luxury. They may have one -
the Duke of Worcester (Richard Roxburgh), has expressed interest, but he has a
condition. If paid by the show you want something in return (besides a
benefit of your investment). He wants Satine. But so does Christian, who
has nothing to offer the spectacle, but his talent, and none of Satine, but his love

narcoleptic) Matthew Whittet (Satie), Kerry Walker (Marie) and
Laszlo Lukas (Driver). With an eye for detail and his imagination
thrust into overdrive, Luhrmann has developed and delivered one of the brightest
films to come along in quite a while. `Moulin Rouge 'is an explosion of
images and sounds, a film laced with humor and visual largess that has a
poignant and dramatic story at heart. Entertaining and
thoroughly enjoyable, this is a memorable film and a film that meets current
experience.
It is a story about love, a story through the magic of cinema. I
such 9 / 10.
I wonder if that line Duke "I do not care about your ridiculous
dogma" was addressed to Lars von Trier. Could it be, the film is full of
know the lines "He can make you a star and is dallying with the
writer! "or" They wore me with the best clothes and Argentine
I went from a famous English writer "There is something of Ken Russell
the second period in" Moulin Rouge "Everything emphasizes
stressed and repeated at least three times for security. Excess
seem a rather weak word to describe it, but it works. The film, by
most part, is a delight. Nicole Kidman, ravishing and spectacular, spectacular
. Ewan McGregor, superb, and so charismatic that nobody
who blame me if I confess I had a crush on him as soon as
broke into "The hills are alive with the sound of music ..."
McGregor and Kidman, this movie shows what is the closest thing we have had in years
the big stars of yesteryear. They can do anything that glows and
have. Another detail that should not go wrong, "Moulin Rouge" opened the door again to
music and that's always a good thing, even if we are forced to
be bombarded by some terrible things. They say that no matter
insofar as it allows glorious film talent of the caliber of Kidman and McGregor
to give us the delights that have even a bag of wind
such as "Moulin Rouge" ;
