Andrew Largeman shuffled through life in a lithium-induced coma until his mother's death inspired a vacation from the pills to see what might happen. A moderately successful TV actor living in Los Angeles, "Large" hasn't been home to the Garden State in nine years. But even with 3,000 miles between them, he's been unable to escape his domineering father Gideon and the silencing effect he's had on his son from afar. Stunned to find himself in his hometown after such a long absence, Large finds old acquaintances around every corner living quite unique lives as gravediggers, fast food knights and the panderers of pyramid schemes. Meanwhile, at home, he does his best to avoid a long-simmering but inevitable confrontation with his father. By a twist of fate, Large meets Sam, a girl who is everything he isn't. A blast of color, hope and quirks, Sam becomes a sidekick who refuses to ride in his sidecar. Her warmth and fearlessness give Large the courage to open his heart to the joy and pain of the infinite abyss that is life.

Garden grew in me. It keeps replaying in my mind. It reminded me of the movie
The Graduate (not light praise) for many reasons, not least of which is
la banda sonora which included a song by Simon and Garfunkel
. I mean, why include an old song of S & G
amid a host of contemporary artists - should have been done on purpose -
right? And the scene of the pool, although different from Hoffman's, still serves to illustrate
Andrew Largeman alienation.
As with the BA, is the little things that have for me. The
escalators heading in two directions at the end, the realization of a
completely original dance, tap the father, the arc in the
edge of the abyss, the silent Velcro ... I could go.
Natalie Portman came to me as well. Playing the role of a ridiculous, but epileptics
cute, hometown girl, she steals the show. She hits all the right notes
. She is responsible for the deaths of rolling the wheel of a loved one, usually
that is, and that is a little crazy, but Andrew
and we can not help falling in love with her.
Movies like this are rare. Lots worth watching, listening to a value of the lots to
, much to believe, much to feel good. I hope Braff (star
writer, director) has a little more like this in him.
I would give Garden State, 9 out of 10. The only reason why I'm not giving
a 10 is perfect b / c he had a slow start. Apart from the fact that this movie
overwhelmingly surprised me with his leadership and performance. Natatlie
Portman made an amazing job playing Sam. She really worked part.
Zach Braff address is impressive debut. I had never heard of Braff
except for his character in the television show Scrubs.
Also made an excellent job performance. There are so many surprising elements
expelled during the film. Braff just keeps piling one thing at the top of the next
to make the story more interesting, as it rolled. I liked a lot
Garden State with 11 !!!!!!!!!
