Until recently in history, whenever the world of cinema and the world of football
combined, the results have often been negligible. With the
Goal! trilogy, a new precedent has been established not only for gender, but also for himself
world sport, in terms of its credibility in the cinema
towards its millions of fans around the world demanding.

What makes this movie at the basic level is truly
this game of high-quality realism on the silver screen. However, that alone
does not lend the film its creed. What makes it stand as the definitive
bearer of football movies (considering how any other sport
especially the Americans have managed to succeed filmwise-Bull Durham,
Space Jam, Mighty Ducks, recalling Titans, etc.) is that
leads many thematic layers in the back, pushes the boundaries of the genre
with depth to the story and finally aces in the delivery of a movie that combines drama
with sport, fashion and credibility in general
all content items.

obviously, every critic knows that the methodology of such delivery
realism is required, especially in the film-
exactly what we offered the film, and as a result that gives advantage Final.
Football films have never been totally authentic, due to factors as diverse as
action mapping, as well as the scope dramatico. Moreover,
sports fans knew that nothing in the film could never approximate the
great unscripted drama of the game. Until Goal! came along. When the
Fife commissioned and granted rights to the film
Danny Cannon, the air of realism was put in place already, because although
being fiction, which carries the authority of universal game as fans
know that because of its parallels simulated real-clubs, real superstars
just like Zidane, Raul, Shearer, etc., and the realities of the real game
hierarchies and bureaucracies have been inferred from reservations, leagues,
scouts, agents and pressures.

Salomon AG and Adidas may have pumped advertising dollar in this movie
for placement of their teams (Newcastle United, Real Madrid) and sponsored
players for marketing, but true meaning when the result is this
authentic, you can blame the companies for entry? In fact, even
fans might have to thank them for what they can produce
be the first high profile and quality of football film history. Just remember the maudlin
world of football film until the recent revival of the films of the genre, which incidentally
mirror of the revolution and his brand of football
which began in the 1990's and tastes superstars like Beckham.
In recent years, this revival has witnessed cinema tickets to mark the beginning of the
the commercial success of football, since 1996 the 'Fever Pitch' for 2002 < br> Bend like Beckham, but never get a movie about the game itself is
done the way it has done here in this central character.

Indeed, the very scarcity of these films is an understatement
and may well be the fuel for the Goal! trilogy of imminent success. Even
soccer legend Pele refers to the shortage of football or movies-to
least the simple concept to explain the structures of wealth,
and class disparities in rich and poor in congruence with the football. The plot of
Butchart and Jeffries in this film stands out because
this - with neighborhoods S. Americas; institution of organized religion
of football in England, and a rag to riches drama, when Becker
character combines innocence and disappointments successful
"aspiration" in a real fantasy lower. The screenplay is far from true genius
but has deep troughs (poverty, death, rejection) and
obstacles to competition, adaptation and temptation (the club scenes
almost an accurate summary revealing because footballers' reputation
Europe). Indeed, perhaps the only party was inaccurate about how Becker
signed without a work permit and contract because he had to have been
play in at least 70% of all parties with their side Internacional.
However, the film manages at the same time convey the scale of this global
world billions of dollars obsession with fantasy
without compromising the magnitude and challenges of all. Throw in
all other elements ranging from romance with Anna Friel's pragmatic
nurse character to the range of archetypes football (as Nivola
playboy with a conscience, as iure Gaffar stoicism, as the gentlemanly Dillane
scout, mercenaries, even a Souness-as
Hardman) at the top of the fact that the real images of matches in England
has been edited to perfection, and you can see why the film
accounts for a thorough representation of the sport. Perhaps even more exciting
all, the film shows scenes behind the scenes of the teams and stars
of training grounds, gyms, locker rooms, city streets, pubs,
Toon Geordi.

How many people remember a film that football was in this way?
More often than not football films have been swept up in the comedy or played alongside
appendix to broader issues. From Thorold Dickinson's
Arsenal Stadium Mystery (1939) on crime, to biopics like yesterday's Hero (1979), or
Gregory's Girl (1981) on gender, or even Eran Riklis's Cup finals
(1991) about the PLO in the war, most of the films have broader issues. The rest
survive in the mood, Mike Bassett (2001), being the typical example.
Goal! results and sets the precedent for the genre from now on. In fact,
there has been a spate of football films since, well represented in Cannes or
the Berlinale festival, and probably also in the World Cup
2006.

Cannes Film include "the longest penalty in the World" and "
Romeo and Juliet Get Married" - a strained marriage between a Barcelona fan and a fan of
Real Madrid, while there were Berlinale 'Offside' an Iranian film. The film market
football has always been there, its just a case of
if the filmmakers could break the deadlock
quality and authenticity, and Goal! could well be the catalyst for
to open the floodgates.

"Goal! The Dream Begins "(2005)

Directed by: Danny Cannon

Starring: Kuno Becker, Alessandro Nivola, Anna Friel, Stephen Dillane,
Tony Plana, Miriam Colon, and Alfredo Rodriguez

Classification MPA: "PG" (for language, sexual situations and some thematic
materials, including party)

me I feel as if I've written before this review. Come to think
, I feel as if I've seen this movie before. ! I have a…
hundreds of times before. "Goal! The Dream Begins "is adapted comfortably to
the mold of its kind that one could almost imagine that used
exactly the same pattern as films like" Stick It "," taking the initiative, "
"Akeelah and the Bee," "Bring in: All or Nothing", and many more.
I can see the thought process that filmmakers used when
comes with this idea. (Insert name here) is a veritable who wants lower
excel at (insert sport and / or competition here), but (insert
potential problem here) is his (or her). Can he (or she) overcome obstacles and achieve
(insert name here honour or award).
Movies like these have been saturating the market lately… yes, even more than
PG-13 remakes of classic horror. It seems as if every week we see
other of these types of films and, I must say that being
redundant. It's easy to see why. The presentation of these films has already been
been previously established filmmakers and all we do is insert a different
and achievements to enable them to work. How many more movies
can they do? I suppose that when we resort to win a paddleball
competition as the achievement that could resist for a while.
But unfortunately, until then, we will continue watching them. The last (or
one of the most recent) is "Goal! The Dream Begins. " All you need
know about this movie is in the title. "The Dream Begins" sums it all
and not very well, if I say so myself. As it does not say "The Dream Ends
" We must assume that our main hero is successful in doing whatever it is you want
make this movie and that paves the way for a long and
Successful career out of that hero. Come on! You know you knew that already
.

The hero of this movie is Santiago Munez (Becker), an illegal immigrant from Mexico
who dreams of playing football (or soccer to our friends
outside the United States). However, his father, Hernan (Plana), has
different plans. Santiago wants to join the family business with him
and help secure his family financially. But when Santiago gets the chance to prove
for Newcastle United, who jumps at the chance and
using money from her grandmother (Colon) gives him secretly outside
jets to achieve its goal . But soon she realizes that
become a professional soccer player is not as easy as it seems and that his father
may have been right. As things begin to become a
roller coaster of highs and lows, Santiago realizes that
must first believe in yourself before anyone else will. Ah, this is a beautiful
plot. It is very simple and, although not brain surgery or anything else,
serves its purpose - which is to entertain and inspire. Yes, it's about as
cliches and predictable, and coming, but still keeps me entertained.
sound as if I'm contradicting myself? If so, then you have
just understand my point. Movies like "Goal! The Dream Begins "
entertaining films (mostly) and certainly enjoy seeing
them, but they are still cliches and booted from nearly every other
film that came before.

The cast does an exceptional job. Kuno Becker gives a wonderful
evasion of responsibility and performance is really theirs, which surprised me. The
is simply a very solid player. Alessandro Nivola, who starred in
my favorite movie of last year, "Junebug" really shows his versatility as an actor
here. Who knew he has a deep talent? Anna Friel
serves as the love interest of Becker and character, although
underused something she also does exactly what is asked of it. The
rest of the cast does admirably. As I said, "Goal! The dream
Begins "is a paint-by-numbers drama that really brings nothing new to the table
. In fact, you have seen all this before. But, like "Take the Lead
" made earlier this year, "Goal! The Dream Begins "
manages to transcend its genre and, while predictable, is much better
what it should be. Well acted, directed with style-and-
competent writing, "Goal! The Dream Begins "is a film that is so much more entertaining
cliches that their concept suggests.
Will you see every plot twist from a mile away? Yes. Do you know the end
even before the opening credits are over? You better believe it. But
going to be totally entertaining and fulfilled at the end? Majority
Definitely.

final thought: cliches and predictable, "Goal! The Dream Begins "brings nothing new to
its kind… but it is still a very good movie with a lot of fun to be had
.

overall evaluation: 7 / 10 (+ B)
