In this blend of the B movie classic The Blob (1958) and some Romero's zombies film, a meteorite collides in a small town. Grant finds it, and is infected by a parasite worm, which installs in his brain and causes him a creepy transformation into a monster. Starla, his wife, and Bill, a policeman, will try to stop him and the plague of worms generated by the creature.

(Synopsis) The movie opens with a meteorite landing in the Backwoods
the small town of Wheelsy. The bad news is that our atmosphere
not burn up everything inside the meteorite. One of Wheelsy's rich business
men, Grant Grant (Michael Rooker), who is married to the young and beautiful
high school biology teacher, Starla (Elizabeth Banks), is a slow movement
viscose thing behind the bar in the city. The slug stops moving as
Grant is approaching, he becomes infected by the ingot. Grant
begins to change and evolve into a bloodthirsty eat meat squid with a creature

(my comments) Slither is a 1950 Type B-grade horror / comedy film
scenario that has everything. A million years old, foreign parasite
outer space with tentacles penetrating that sucks the life of you,
fast-moving slugs who want to get inside your mouth, dogs and cows be
eaten by humans and deer zombies, a huge mother globalization, and
small town is terrorized by a monster. This is your classic category B
movie is great fun watching. You will laugh from beginning to end
. For reasons of budget, it appears that used the old standby,
tomato ketchup for blood. There are some moments of fear, but most
scenes are hilarious. If you want a pleasant evening and a good laugh
, this is the movie to see. (Universal Pictures, 1:36 runtime,

If you're a loyal fan of horror movies, I'm pretty sure you've already heard
(and probably even used) the cliché to say at this
comment on the subject line. Sometimes it seems that the only
horror movies Hollywood serves us today are without inspiration and slashers
colourless remakes, all watching untalented bimbo and washed up hip hop stars that
urgently needed to advance their careers by playing a movie role
. For all these reasons (and many others), James Gunn of "Slither" is a film
immensely happy to observe, as it is a real tribute to the
affected, sticky and, above all, the Gory old school horror days! Gunn's
screenplay writing fluently catapults us back to the 1980's, with its small town
typical configuration, ingenious redneck characters and - above all
- compose the effect that no are based on advanced computer techniques.
The story opens when an evil alien monster crash lands his "shell"
in the forest and literally invades the body of the local city contained
Grant Grant (Michael Rooker). Grant then impregnates a slutty and townsgirl
she "gives birth" to thousands of mysterious slugs that will infect the
rest of the villagers. Loving wife Starla Grant teams with the
Sheriff, who is also his greatest admirer, and the battle to avoid slug
the total elimination of hunting of the city's population. Judging from
James Gunn's age and background, grew up in one of the golden eras
horror and this is clearly evident by the number of tributes and references
put into his own movie! Shortly
gimmicky aspects and ideas of "Basket Case" over "The Blob" in "tremors" in light of all
"Slither", but never at one point the film becomes
in too agitated or stupidity. It does not contain a lot of tension or originality, but
obtained largely offset by splashes imagination. Grant
gradually becomes a big stack size viscose obscenity (similar to Brian Yuzna
"Company") that sucks innocent villagers in their stomach or ...
something like that. Other people get their heads blown up into pieces by a shotgun
, or totally consumed by slugs and a poor sucker is still
cut in half the subsidy tentacles. The dialogues are often hilarious, especially
the mayor is quite a character, and all the cast members
seems very happy to be part of this production.
