The film was not the book, but the actions of all those involved were inspired
. I admit to seeing the film because it was Colin Farrell and
not sure that, after the book, which could become Bobby.
But it did, with a yield surprises me.
What is regrettable that the film, somehow, has been limited
on appeal by the "topic of sexuality" that has become attached to it. Yes,
Jonathan is gay. But labelling Bobby bi-sexual is to reduce him to a caricature
. Bobby's life was about love, and they need to get it
people in his life. The found no limits on how to return it. Imagine
no inhibitions to show love and affection! A scene with Bobby
that only continued to show his tender and honest heart.
Then there were rampant rumors of the "deleted scene".
I fully understand why the scene was cut. It would have been unnecessary and
free.
It is unfortunate this film was not released more
screens. Lack these actions truly be a tragedy.
My children and I saw the first 2:30 PM Friday the 23 th show in San Francisco
Lumiere theater. WE loved it! All comments are quite
sound - big impressive wonderful sweet very emotional and very poignant
filled with yearning and love. Colin Bobby was as spectacular adorable. This paper shows how well
how Colin is a versatile actor - what's a talented
genius is and what a person is fully capable of being emotional.
All actors did an incredible job - but in particular I was really impressed with the
that adolescents who play the young Bobby and Jonathan -
were absolutely genuine in what these really complicated, mature roles.
Regardless of the changes required by the book - I was surprised
how many moments that were exactly as I imagined when I read
.
Although there were a lot of comments and the book to read -
some are totally ridiculous and hysterical cute moments that touched me out of my seat and
completely surprised me. And
- upset by a scene - I am thankful that has changed - that
scene without any distractions irrelevant is a controversial Oscar winner
if I ever saw one - completely beautiful and sweet and loving and traumatic.
I do not want anything to stand in the way the characters and what they care about
there - and if I've been in a room of screaming fans
I have been bothered by having nothing to interrupt the
beautiful moments during the film - although I do not kick the scene deleted from the bed
if shown on the DVD!
Saturday the 24 th I saw again. They are giving away books Home & CDs
as raffle prizes, and although I was not fortunate enough to win -
I was lucky to get a book anyway. One of the guys who won the CD / book set
gave me his book because it had one. Have the Home of posters in
cover!
Everyone was filling out the questionnaires pink for the film - One of the
collecting them boys said they had about 200 responses from
previous submissions, and almost all those who rated the film as excellent
. Only 9 of 200 nominal that is fair and just 2 poor (2 bastards!)
Colin has some incredibly powerful moments in this movie, and although
I am a fan of his anyway I was happy blown away with how he is loving
as Bobby. It was glorious to see. I am very impressed with everything
film - all actors of all. It's a very emotional, moving and profound
history.
