While growing up in the Great Depression era, Johnny Cash(Joaquin Phoenix) takes an interest in music and eventually moves out of his Arkansas town to join the air force in Germany. While there, he buys his first guitar and writes his own music, and proposes to Vivian. When they got married, they settled in Tennessee and with a daughter, he supported the family by being a salesman. He discovers a man who can pursue his dreams and ends up getting a record with the boys. Shortly after that, he was on a short tour, promoting his songs, and meets the already famous and beautiful June Carter(Reese Witherspoon). Then as they get on the long-term tours with June, the boys, and Jerry Lee Lewis, they have this unspoken relationship that grows. But when June leaves the tour because of his behavior, he was a drug addict. His marriage was also falling apart, and when he sees June years later at an awards show, he forces June to tour with them again, promising June to support her two kids and herself. While the tour goes on, the relationship between June and John grow more, and his marriage to his first wife ends. June finds out about the drugs, and help him overcome it. Walk the Line

Rating: 3.5 out of 4
Director: James Mangold Cast : Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon
Writer: James Mangold, Gill Dennis (based off the Johnny Cash
Autobiographies) MPAA Rating: PG-13 (language, drug content)
To be honest, I have never been a fan of the music of Johnny Cash. I listened
that once in a while and then browse presets in my car,
Halt to sing along with a few verses he knew, but never gave much thought
Musician. Until now. For me, Walk the Line is all
Ray was not. Ray was hit by a dash erratic, but has received sufficient
Sentimentalismo and acting points for people to look at its past mistakes, and
He managed to nab Best Picture nomination. Walk the Line, however, is
worth all the press that it is likely to get. With the job acting only as
Impressive as Ray's as affecting the music, and a script that
The right of all hits chords, Walk the Line is a fine fit for Mr
Cash biopic.
The film faces the threat of what music critics call "songiness."
Spares biopics have been released in the last year which makes
only a matter of time before the hearing American call to leave everything to gender.
If that were not enough, the story of Ray bows and Walk the Line
essentially the same. A small-time musician with tragic childhood memories
became an international sensation, but finds itself embroiled
extra-marital with women and illegal drugs. Yes, it
sounds like a re-hash of Ray, but believe me, Walk the Line
Tales runs much, much easier.
Also, what was Ray lacked romance. Yes, yes, I know you must
Cute scene with the hummingbird, but that little tidbit
Reese Witherspoon will soon be forgotten when he hits the screen. Taking on the role of
June Carter, Witherspoon took a page from his role in Vanity Fair (and
Not Just Like Heaven), and completely inhabits his character. His
Matching Joaquin Phoenix yields beautiful and chemistry that makes their romance
Believably realistic, something that frankly was not with Ray.
There are sure to be some concern over the fact that the Director James Mangold used
Phoenix and Witherspoon real voices
Cash and Carter's songs. Again, I am not really an authority on Johnny Cash
Music, but from what I heard, Phoenix and Carter nails. And cash
Entusiasta Roger Ebert, who was in the same screening room, and as I
Listen to the same song, then said he was incredibly
Impressed by his mimicry.
To get my comparison between Ray and Walk the Line, I found James Mangold
the leadership style of Cash biopic to be very similar to the formula used by
Taylor Hackford in Ray. Each put a strong emphasis on visual
scenes and musical or busy with
Tips camera or distracting visual pizazz. There are beautiful photographs
are in both films, but this is not Fernando Meirelles (The Constant Gardener
) behind the camera. Instead, in which each director
plays his cards with the script. And here is where Walk the Line
really shows his colors.
Biopics are difficult, in a story that must be told consistently over a period of
Great timing. Movies are often the problem of trying to
Encajan too in a movie two hours, a topic of Ray suffered.
For example, when Ray began its downward spiral and starts with heroin
Poking himself with needles, there were cuts straight
often joyous scenes of his son being born, he or go home with his wife
from Sharp. History never be installed in a spirit
and tell a story line. Instead, the film jumped around so much that the left
An audience stunned and numb to the emotions on the screen. But Walk the Line
avoids this problem with James Mangold and Gill Dennis' screenplay,
is based on two Cash autobiographies. The script gives Walk
line is the backbone of the story to continue, maintaining a base for
sub-plots around the recapitulation. The foundation is the cash
Obsession with June Carter. His childhood history and even his music are
Motivated by this romance. She was the center of his life until his death
, and she is the center of this film. And with Witherspoon
performance as excellent as it is, the base is solid as a rock.
If the American public is still willing to pay money for a musician
Biopic, then Walk the Line is his film. In the last four that I have seen
(De-Lovely, Ray, Beyond the Sea), Walk the Line of the best.

Walk the Line was a great movie. When you see it, you feel as if you are watching
Johnny Cash in person. Juaqin Pheonix is amazing as
Cash, a man with so many self-doubts and regrets. Reese Witherspoon
Oscar gives a performance as the love of his life June Carter. The
movie is long, but worth every minute. But it is that the vast
T Bone Burnett chose the right to reproduce songs. When I saw that people today
The theater was singing along with the film. And what is great is that Witherspoon
Pheonix sand and songs. This film
must win several Oscars this year. Go see it. It is an astonishing film,
And it is perfectly protrays an incredible man.
