Everyone says that this movie is horrible. They say rightly so. Gary
make Daniel's previous films range from the terrible hit good fun. (The fight scenes
are the best of their "good" movies.) Know that this movie was not
going to be great, but I never thought I actually have a worse
screenplay that
BLOODMOON cold or harvest. (These two are his best movies, because of their
excellent coordination of fighting.) The film made even knew what was going
ignition. It's like the entire cast and crew was wandering around not knowing what
to do in this movie. However, the action is great. Akihiro Noguchi cold
harvest redirect the fight scenes, and even has the support of Koichi Sakamoto
of the unit. If there is more action, however, and if it is longer,
(There is painfully short.) That would have been better. The scenes
just seems too short for its own sake. (Like the problem in the FATAL
fury anime series that has short but impressive fight scenes), Gary Daniels
even reaches about exchanging blows with the veteran Stuntman James Lew. But after
few kicks and punches, down like a sack of potatoes. Even
George Cheung, once again, to no avail. (He is a great martial artist, but his skills
are hardly used in martial arts films in. What exactly is up with
.) Sound effects were not the best Either. Punching and kicking
seemed too quiet. (And I do not think that iban for the same effect as in
Crouching Tiger) But anyone that this is Kiyoshi Nakajo, which makes its U.S.
debut as Domoto, rocks. It has an impressive screen presence, and handles a sword
masterfully. He was the best actor in this whole film, and made it worth watching
further. Another interesting aspect of this film is that a large
part of it is in Japanese. This is a very good idea to have a film
in English and Japanese, since it gave a good mix. The scenes were Japanese
acted better than the English. I suggest renting this film
U.S. dollars in one day when you have nothing better to do, and just jump to the
action scenes. Personally, I can not get enough of martial arts action, and climate
the movie is good or not, as long as the characteristics good fight choreography,
worth seeing.
This film is poor. Especially the action scenes are very poorly done
. The martial arts is one of the worst in recent years: People
behave like puppets and as we have seen in many low-budget films,
enemies seem to stand in a queue is only one attacking the "hero" at a time. Speaking
of "hero": One of the policemen (Gary Daniels) is supposed to be the
protagonist in this movie. But such a lick without any style.
I really hated him and he really wanted to get killed.
Moreover, I wonder why this movie is rated 18 +. Virtually no real
explicit violence in this movie. No head shots, not dust blood
bullet hits, nothing at all. Bullets even drilling holes in cars.
Only later scene in the grill meets the standards of today.
The only reason for a grade of 18 years could be the fact that the police
(IMHO) ugly wife breasts are visible in one totally displaced
sex scene, which totally summits lame and boring side of the story of the police
privacy.
Swordsman however, is great. It is also a good idea to have the
Yakuza guys speaking in Japanese (with subtitles)
