Honey Danels (Jessica Alba) is a 22-year-old, sexy, tough-minded, part-black, part-Latina hip-hop dancer in New York's East Harlem who dreams of making it big as a music video choreographer. She teaches hip-hop dancing at a local youth center and encourages the local kids to attend to keep them off the streets and out of trouble. When luck shines on Honey in the form of a famous music video director, named Michael, who casts her in one music video, she's encouraged to make the transition from dancer to choreographer. But Honey's sudden success comes with a price when Michael refuses to take "no" for an answer to his sexual advances and then tries to sabotage her career by blackballing her out of the business.

Honey is a movie that I had not heard much about. A few people have mentioned
if only as a step Jessica Alba conversation. It took me some time
actually to sit and watch, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Admit I am not a fan of hip hop music that was a big reason why we had not
the trouble to see it.
Honey is the story of the night bartender and dancer Honey Daniels. She
dreams of becoming big in the world of dance and she has the moves
but has not been discovered yet. By chance to be noticed by big time
music video director Michael Ellis who launches his career by making
its center and meet some of the music videos
largest in the industry. As his fame grows loses contact with some of the most important things
for her, her neighborhood, her best friend, children
used to teach dance. She tries to juggle but both
becomes a challenge. Ellis introduces her choreography and she begins to write
dance moves and further her fame. Finally there is a balance
when she realizes that she might be able to help get some of its
neighborhood for street children for putting them into music videos. Unfortunately
quickly discovers that Michael Ellis
never wanted for anything more than sex and that fire when she does not give
and at the top of its blacklist in the industry so that nobody is going to working with its
. She returns to her neighborhood, where he discovers the fall in
center where he teaches dance has closed and now she wants desperately
to open a dance studio where kids can dance and have fun with the security
streets. To raise the money to buy space for
dancer Honey center organizes a great spectacle of dancing with children
performing. With the help of his neighborhood and the kids she
success in all your dreams.
Any hip-hop fans will appreciate this movie cameos alone.
The film is chock full of cameos musical Missy Elliott to Jadakiss.
It is true that the plot is a bit thin in the film but frankly
is much more of a plot than I thought it would be. I had the film linked
as Flashdance, Save The Last Dance type but it's less about the
dancer and more about his love for children. It's actually quite
edifying and their final song of the film was very cool and made me smile
. I have read some less than favourable comments about this movie, but for me
came as a surprise that it was not horrible. The cast is correct
but really not to delay the film as much as history does.
Jessica Alba is decent in the lead role, and Lil 'Romeo
does a great job in his role as Benny, the troubled child of the streets.
Not have much of substance but if you like hip hop and want something
edifying, it's worth seeing. 7 / 10

your brain is not always so easy to find. The ever sunny and optimistic
Honey Daniels has two functions increasingly agitated in his life - a waiter for a night
and hip hop dance day. She has hopes of one day
appearing in a music video, a dream that comes true that catches the eye when
time a large producer named Michael Ellis. Not only is a Honey
to crush his first appearance on video, but Michael immediately hired as his
choreographer of one of its projects. As is typical in these
strive and succeed "Robinson Crusoe," "Honey soon discovers that success is not all it is cracked up
when Michael reveals his true color, creating

is not about to be torn down so easily. She uses this small setback

Filled with a fair zeal and determination,
neighborhood rallies to raise funds for a new dance studio that can reach young people off the street
, channel their energies in a more positive direction,
and turn their lives around.
Only the most Scrooge-like curmudgeon could oppose the positive
laudatory wordings, pull-yourself-up-of-the-bootstraps message of the film is trying to convey
, and one that would frankly be inhuman not to feel lifted by
the final dance sequence. But good intentions and noble aspirations not
in and of themselves, to make a quality film, and `Honey 'is a long way
installation of the bill. The film wants to be taken seriously as a
realistic view of urban life but very little of what we see increasingly rings true, starting with Honey
that it, together with his behavior invariably perky, seems
as a cross between Little Mary Sunshine and Mother Teresa in an appropriate manner
jeans and matching halter top. Everything that happens with it -
his meteoric ascent into the world of music videos for purchase of an empty warehouse for
his new dance studio for the benefit of performance she and her dancers stage
gather money for the project - especially come too easily and with virtually no effort
remarkable for its part. Never believe for a moment
that none of this would happen this way in the real world. In this way, 'Honey'
is really little more than an urban fairy tale, fine for children,
suppose, but not of much use for adults with a more pragmatic understanding of how
real life.
Jessica Alba is not great shakes as an actress, although she has an infection
a smile and bubbly conduct that work well on screen. But it is
Zachary Williams, as the adorable, gap-toothed eight-year-old Raymond, who steals the show
. Now that is a hell of a beloved
little kid.
