The Chumscrubber starts out with Troy,a normal teenager who supplies "feel good" pills to everyone in his high school(this way he spreads happiness all around). But when his friend Dean pays him a visit, Dean discovers Troy has hung himself in his bedroom during one of his mother's pool parties.After the death,three local teens: Billy,Lee,and Crystal, want what's left of Troy's stash of pills and they know that Dean is the only one who knows where they are. But when Dean refuses to get the pills, the three teens kidnap Dean's little brother, until they realize they've kidnapped the wrong kid.

Many people hate this movie because it's so off the wall, but I did not want to end. It is full of surprises, interesting characters, strong emotions, and strange twists. I left the theater in a daze that lasted a couple hours of "reality" invaded again. The cast is large and the stars like Glenn Close and Ralph Fiennes show their talent for underplaying their roles or play unconventional characters like never before. The director has done a great job with continuity; chumscrubber the sample from the beginning, even before knowing who he is. There's plenty of humor amid the tragedy and is likely to take a second viewing to catch everything. Probably the crowd of 15-25 as the best, but I am almost 60 and I loved it. Great job by the director and writer.
I was caught off guard with this film. I had heard great things about it and knew it was going to be very good, but I hope it does not really deliver as well. All (young) cast are really great actors and I hope more of his work. Glenn Close was good in him and so were most other adults. I have heard many people compare this movie Donnie Darko, not really. Although DD is a good movie is about two totally different things. I thought that Rory Culkin underutilized and should have at least one scene in the movie. Billy (Justin Chatwin) who at first did not seem very credible as the school bully (who seems too good child) ended up growing on me and I actually started to have a strong aversion by the child. Crystal (Camilla Belle) did a great job too. Dean (Jamie Bell), my interest has come really well. He is a great actor and I hope that whatever they do next. I recommend seeing this film and, in fact, have already said about 10 people on it.
