Guy Cooley moves to an old farm in Princeton with his wife Jeanne Cooley and their two daughters, Molly and Lucy, to build eight windmills to generate clean power to the city. He was hired by the local Samantha Porter, who owns with her relative Jonas Dodd the lands in the woods where the facility will be built. The Cooley family has a cold reception in town, and while voting for the approval of the project, the old woman Gretchen Caswell votes against the construction with many followers and mentions the historic importance of the spot and the name of Martha. Jeanne researches and discloses that two hundred and fifty years ago, a girl called Lucy Keyes got lost in the woods and in spite of the efforts of her mother Martha Keyes and the locals, she was never found. When the ghost of Martha comes to the fields around their property calling for Lucy, Jeanne realizes that the legend is true and that there are many hidden secrets in that location.

I saw this movie at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, a few weeks ago, and I am sorry to report that it is simply horrible. Before the screening, the director told the audience that it was "based on a local legend in his own backyard," and it seemed like a nice guy I wanted to enjoy it. Unfortunately, there was basically nothing to enjoy: (The film is simply boring, that his main problem. Age go with literally nothing important happens, and the film is very repetitive. There are endless scenes of the characters and Launch turning while bad dreams, and the movie completely fails to create an atmosphere of fear. Combine that with horrendous act of the two children and a totally absurd, contrived end, and you have a movie that would be better to go straight to video . This is the kind of film that get less than a 15% rating in Rotton tomatoes, and nobody to say positive things about him before his release is probably a study of the plant.
"The Legend of Lucy Keyes" is not entertaining, and it's just not so afraid. At least not unless your idea of fear is two players running around aimlessly in the woods for 15 minutes, shouting "Lucy?" "Lucy?" "Lucy?" one million one hundred billion times.
PS WTF is clam bellies?
John Stimpson has woven a tale of suspense by a local legend and historical documents important to keep you on the edge of your seat. Taking place in rural New England town, which has the advantage of local color and scenery to make even the legend seems very real. Merger with modern technology pre-Revolutionary War scenes, that keeps you guessing. Even when you think you have figured out, resulting in the curve of another building and the unexpected climax. The cinematography is spectacular. You owe it to yourself to see this. Keep the great work of John, and looks forward to his next adventure.
