After being committed for 15 years, Michael Myers, now a 21-year-old man and still very dangerous, escapes from the mental institution (where he was committed as a 6 year old) and immediately returns to Haddonfield, where he wants to find his baby sister. Anyone who crosses his path is in mortal danger.

My personal favorite horror film. From the first tracking shot
a long history of turning the end, this is the masterpiece of a carpenter.
night of Halloween 1963, little Michael Meyers murders his older sister.
-All-Saints Day eve 1978, Michael escapes Smith's Grove Sanitarium.
The night of Halloween, Michael has come home to murder again.
The story is very simple, Michael shoots and kills nannies.
No bells or whistles, just the basics. It's almost too woodbuilder
feeding atmosphere of fear that generates tension. Like any great horror film
, events are Telegraph in advance, however,
still seem to occur randomly, never allowing the audience to
opportunity to guess the film.
The dark lighting, the long-CAM constant gunfire, and (more important)
that damn mysterious create the music more uncomfortable and claustrophobic
scenes that have not yet seen in the movies. It is not a body count, but compared to
slashers of the series after this is fairly small. And that most
murders are almost bloodless. The fear is not death, but not in
know.
roundelay is doing fine. PJ Soles provides much of the film
limited humor (and one of the best deaths), Nancy Loomis
becomes a decent performance, and then, is the youngest (at) Jamie
Leigh-Curtis. His performance at first seems shy and a safe, but
quickly realize that it is perfect for the character, which is
herself and a shy, and said that he did not at all prepared for what
is expensive. And, of course, is perfectly cast Donald Pleasence as the
determined (perhaps a little unstable) Dr. Sam Loomis. Rest in peace
Mr Pleasence.
If the film has a flaw harmful, it would be the passage of time.
Since the release of this film for many years
almost innumerable clones, copies, RIP-offs, and imitators have come along and stolen
(usually bad) the best movies to almost all bits on
he has become familiar. Combined with changes in the hearing
expectations and appetites, is a big part of the film raw energy
diluted. To truly appreciate in this day and age, should be seen
as it once was, as something unique.

highly recommend this movie to anyone looking for a good time of fear. Reguards higher.

I was 20 in 1978, and saw at the opening this weekend. I knew nothing about
, and after growing up in the old Hammer films, followed by a period of
almost anything, this was a very pleasant surprise. It really worked! I had
check the back seat in the car, gave me a sinking feeling when I lost my
keys, etc. The low number of deaths and the relative lack of blood, compared with
Slasher post movies, I really admire how effectively created
the atmosphere and suspense kept me on the edge and made me jump in the
right places. Of course, not jump over it, but I have fun
remember what it was like watching when the cliches are now
fresh and new. I laugh at 'horror' films of años'30 y'40, but when it
again, I bet that was something. Handsome and in another 20 years, today
children are Grito / IKWYDLS, et al, be gentle and go too, at least
compared with what they have (and I) is then!
'm surprised by the number of people half my age who wish to
could have been around to see this movie when it was new!
Looking back, probably Halloween scares me more than when it was new, others have
horror movies, when they were new. Horror Films are indebted to
Halloween to break some new ground, and I can not wait for the next
horror movie that will do something on a similar scale.
