I saw this movie in the first sample is available in my area, and it was clear that most people did not get the movie. Even if there is a good movie with some interesting features of development. This is a thoroughly human story about people far from Carter in a southern town, and really speaks to the root of the blues. If you do not know what the "Black Snake Moan" is at the moment you leave the theater, I do not understand. And no .. is not just a song. Christina Ricci does a great job and is completely convincing in his role as Samuel L Jackson. I think this is her best performance since his role in Pulp Fiction, and probably the best among them, due to the variety of his character in BSM. The rest of the cast is solid, with some brilliant performances here and there, particularly John Cothran Jr. as Reverend RL. I am very selective observer of the movie, and honestly this movie rates among my favorites because of its frank look at race, sex, religion and neurosis in a rural area south of the city, with its cinematic genius, in my opinion.
