** May contain spoilers ** Director Phillip Noyce offers an atmosphere
thriller "The Bone Collector ', a story something of a grisly serial murderer
in New York City. Homicide detective Lincoln Rhyme (Denzel Washington
) is an expert in the field of forensic medicine, who has also been a
quadriplegic for four years, the result of an accident during the investigation of a scene
of the crime. From the neck down with the use of only a single
finger, which controls a computer and monitor his bed.

bring him together with a young police officer, Amelia Donaghy (Angelina Jolie
), who had just received a long sought after the transfer to

In each case, is all the more horrible because the victims
can see exactly what is about to happen to them, they have time to think about it, and
there is absolutely nothing I can do respect. It makes for a mysterious, disconcerting
history, and although inherently dark that never descends to the
appalling level of a predecessor in the genre, `Seven '. Washington gives a performance
first class, keeping Rima interesting though confined to bed for
throughout the film, Jolie and takes Amelia credible to a level that far exceeds
naive to the typical provision of such characters . Unfortunately,
development of character, especially, is sacrificed for sensationalism, with the exception of
Rima, whose character is easily established, we
offered by the mere vision of the rest. We have clues about what motivates
Amelia, but leaves us guessing as to the agenda of Cheney Captain (Michael Rooker
). Along the way, some characters are used as obstacles
thrown into the path of a race track (Cheney is one, an employee of a bookstore is another),
with the sole intention of manipulating the audience. With a little more depth,
this could have been a remarkable film.
The cast includes Queen Latifah, who brings a good presence in the film as Rima
nurse, Thelma; Ed O'Neill (Detective Sellitto), Leland Orser (Richard
Thompson), Mike McGlone (Detective Solomon), Luis Guzmán (Eddie Ortiz), and
Arthur Holden (Bookstore employee). While this movie has some real gut wrenching
reactions, is not `The Silence of the Lambs'. In a dark night,
however, when you're alone in your living room with nothing but the
flicker of television and the wind howling outside, you'll do. I rate this
7 / 10.

Everyone has seen the famous suspense thriller in which a
serial murderer crazy plays cat and mouse games with police bereaved;
films are rarely as predictable, dispensable, or formulas. One of the latest
this generation of the trend of movies serial murderer is called "The Bone Collector
", and stars Golden Globe winning actor Denzel Washington and sexy actress
Angelina Jolie. As is often true, production is well acted, directed
with special care and precision by Philip Noyce ( "The Saint", "
Patriot Games"), and creates an appropriate atmosphere for his characters. But even
big stars and a proper environment can not save a family film and this
predictable.
Denzel Washington plays a heroic police called Lincoln Rhyme. The
is an underdeveloped character, however, the script supplies him with a vast
reputation and experience as a policeman, who has written a dozen books on crime scene
tactics and your mind in an encyclopaedia methods to solve the crime. Since
opens the film, is paralyzed in a crime site, leaving
bed in his apartment in Manhattan with control of a single index finger.
Its headquarters is decorated with all sorts of high-tech gadgets and a kind
nurse named Thelma (Queen Latifah), who is always there for him when he goes
in violent convulsions.
Some horrible murders reflected, leaving one policeman novice,
Amelia Donaghy (Angelina Jolie), whose assistance is selected by the paralyzed, but
smart cop who uses her body as to stop the psychopath serial murderer. The
murderer used a taxi cap to attract their victims to their last and disturbing
death. What is most annoying about this production is that
tease us with intriguing implications for the murders graph instead of portraying
casings and the irony of the exploitation of images supposedly grotesque.
The production consists mainly of sequences in which various characters
loom in the dark corridors, allies, rooms, or games designed specifically for
murderer to lurk around in. Of course There are a lot of music and suspenseful moments
surprising, but history largely lacks imagination and
edge. Angelina Jolie is the film's standout performance, but
is mainly used as a plot device to explore such areas as listed above.
"The Bone Collector" is not a horrible movie, only recycled. The
material has experienced many times before we can never become too
involved in the story or very concerned with the characters.
What bothers me most is how this kind of history has no reason or purpose, the serial murderer
reason, as always, explained during the climax sequence, and is disposable
and contrived. Why screenwriters create murderers
reasons disturbing, but not the reasoning behind them? Type
defeats the purpose of rationalism, is not it.
